Sonnarbooks accessible!

DECEMBER 19, 2017 by ALEX

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Thank you all for being with us and your patience – we are still working on Animal Escape and Runner games. Estimated release date is Jan/February.

In the meantime we wanted to share something exciting with you – a sonnarbook – combination of audiobook and a game – just like the good old choose your own adventure books. Full of professional voice acting, music and sound effects. Multiple endings and first in the world chance to play the story from the Big Bad Wolf point of view.

Red Riding Hood and Hansel and Gretel can be downloaded on Ios and Android here:
Website:
http://sonnar.nz/twisted-tales/

To activate the accessibility mode you have to use the magic gesture inside the app: triple tap the screen with three fingers relatively fast. On android devices you might need to disable TalkBack (we know it is annoying and we will try to overcome it).

We are curious what you think and we hope you will like the idea.

Whole team wishes you Sonific Christmas and many adventures in 2018!

Hi.
Interesting, thanks for sharing. I hope some kids will enjoy those games.

Best regards SLJ.
Feel free to contact me privately if you have something in mind. If you do so, then please send me a mail instead of using the private message on the forum, since I don't check those very often.

I tried it on my google pixel 2 running android 8.1, but even with talkback turned off, I can not activate the accessibility mode.
I really want to try this game.

I'm wondering why they've done an accessibility gesture in the firstplace, this is new for thiss company who usually make accessible games from the start, seems slightly odd.

try use this gesture a few times I have tried this two times on my samsung galaxy s5 and it works. You can also ask for help a sighted person. This option is called reading assistant and it is located in settings.

I'm not able to get it on the hansel and gretel story. I got it on the red riding hood one.

Wow.
I must confess I havn't been checking the website, I have not had any testing I needed to do of late, so this is new to me.
Life has been quite busy and I have been meaning to check with sonnar to see if I have any more actual work I needed to do.
With my grandpa's passing in july, his selling of his house and now my brother buying a new one, I havn't actually thought about work at all.
I should really recheck their website, at least they are posting news on their site now!
Sadly this kind of leaves me without much of a job or need to post news but it also means that I don't have to hold up and try to go through all sorts of hoops to post news, its good the hub is going strong.

Hi All,

Sonnar here (Jarek and Jeong).

We are working on the frogger game - it is playable now (only on our side). We are doing voice recordings in two weeks. So... hopefully it will be out in 3 to 4 weeks time).

Regarding Twisted Tales to activate the accessibility mode use the Magic Gesture: triple tap using three fingers. It works, tested on iOS and Android devices. On some samsungs you need to switch off Talkback - we are not sure why... will try to solve it in the future.

Also, Twisted Tales are out on Alexa devices:

Google Home is coming soon!

Cheers
Jarek
