Hello,

Few days ago Vakofactory released a new scrolling beat em up called Samurai riot.

I must say it's really fantastic for everyone who love old stylised brawlers with modern twists. It means, go right and kill everything on your way but with fashion, combos, chains and the best part as far as I know is to play with someone!

I tried the game only once and I managed to beat the first level. The sound is just great and music is fantastic!

@Assault, in my opinion sound design is just perfect! really! I love it!

Yeah, the impact sounds were, lackluster IMO. If they were, say, on the level of like, samurai warriors 4, that would work well.

Hm, for me the game sounds really great! I like sound design so much and it's much better especially compared to Koei games which well, I don't like so much.

Differing opinions, I suppose. Just because we both love sound design so much doesn't mean we have to have the same opinions! hahaha. I love Samurai Warriors 4 and Dynasty Warriors 8's sound design. The music is very interesting in this game, though. But the hit sounds and voices could definitely use a bit more, just in my opinion.

Hmm. So is the game pure CoOp? Or can you play single player as well. It does look neat.

I agree on differend opinions Assault.
Of course you can play alone, sure. I never played this with someone but I hope I will as it will add so many to the experience.

I like about it you can use OCR to read menus and how the combat works, fast, solid and crazy and even when fighting with bosses you have audio cues before their special attacks which is fantastic!
I am just wondering how you can replenish your health but I'll figure it out, also, no idea how to pick up items (if possible of course)

is this one only for PC or is it a console version also?

going in to the wilds, collecting pokedex, and capturing them are my kind of thing,
training them, making them evolve, and generally making them stronger is my ultimate goal,
fighting other manamon tamers, winning the tournament, and fighting octoros are what these manamons like to do,
and ultimately, I become the master of mana!

From one video clip I saw, I couldn't tell if the character was fighting unarmed or armed... until I heard swords clash together. lol The smacks sounded like the sounds that you would make if you punched something. so unless I'm hearing a different game... which I doubt. lol

So, I am looking for a new game and came upon this one, would you say I should buy it or not? What makes me wait is the fact that you apparently have to do storie choices along the storie, and I don't know how good the OCR can read those things.
So, would you say I should give the game a try?

The story isn't really important here sadly.

Only one thing is, when playig alone the game is really, really challenig and it is the best when you are playing with someone next to you as the game is lacking online multi player.

Hi.
I picked up the game and played it a bit. So far I am liking it, but I do have some questions.
1: Is there a way to completely turn off the music? not just slightly decrease it? I found the option to turn it down, but not completely disable it.
2: What are the controls actually, the things I found out are.
xBox controler
Left stick, move
x: attack, can be charged
y: some sort of different attack
a: jump
b: does something sometimes, sounds like a fireball thrown.
RT: block
For the female character, hitting LB or LT calls something.
3:, I sometimes hear a sort of chinese drum sound, and a sort clinging when i defeat an enemy, what is that?
4: How do I defeat that enemy who constantly slashes at me which I can't hit because when I try hitting him, he always knocks me down as it sounds.
