I did a play through of Shadow Rine myself and completed the game. I get lost a couple times though. Regardless, the link to part 1 is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ix3IjYkJFbE&t=3744s
note that part 2 has no microphone audio, because I messed up a little bit while recording and it didn't capture my voice. Speaking of play throughs, assault_freak, did you ever finish yours?

Thumbs up

No, I did not. lol Too much to do, but I want to maybe restart it at some point.

Thumbs up

If that's the playthrough I'm watching part 3 also has no microphone audio.

Thumbs up

I just checked, are you talking about the part where I went through the dragon temple? That's part 2. Part 3 does have audio, the part where I went through the forest of wind.

Thumbs up

I'm not clear on the requirements if any for getting that spacetime warp deal. I know it's in the hotel in the lake city but nobody there seemed to say anything about it when I was there. I also can't seem to find the switch to light the right crystal on that slate in the Wind Forest. I lit the left one but for the life of me can't seem to find the second one.

Thumbs up

You have to go to the library, where you'll find a guy who talks about his students and one of them studying the magic that has to deal with moving between great distances. You should find said student in the hotel after that.

Thumbs up

Ah. And what about that second crystal switch? Like I said I found one that lit the left crystal but I can't for the life of me seem to track down the other one (s).

Thumbs up

I also still can't seem to find that person selling the attack upgrade in the volcano village. I'd really like to have a bit more attack power before I tackle the real serious parts of the lake district. LOL. Although I have managed to get up to 90 HP so I don't get completely massacred LOL.

Thumbs up

The merchant you talked to before in the lake district when you first got introduced to ren also starts selling things at a certain point, I can't remember exactly when. Can't help you with the crystal, unfortunately... don't really remember that part of the game all too well. lol

Thumbs up

All I know is I feel like I'm wandering around in circles.

Thumbs up

That forest is meant to be confusing... and unfortunately, it does way too good of a job. lol I know exactly how you feel. I spend every playthrough doing that, since I don't play through the game often enough to remember where every exact thing is.

its not really that hard, just careful when you are on the watery area.
there are 3 switchs, 1 through the right, 1 on the left, and 1 on the mittle and all of them are on the same room,  but  to reach the switch, you have to find the way around the forest. find the left and right first. I hear you already press the left one, so to reach the right one, just back to the entrance, and find the exit to the east.
there are 2 mini bosses you have to defeat to open the door to the mittle switch.
what is your difficulty level?
and don't forget to level up your sword on the temple HTH! big_smile

Thumbs up

I have gone east. I did find one room where I could hear switches but there didn't seem to be any way to reach them. There did seem to be one close by but when I got close it sounded like I was just walking in place. I've also just raised the sword to level 6. I'm playing on Easy. But I'm seriously beginning to hate this place. I also found a save point inside the forest with a couple of locked doors in the room with it.

hmm, usually if you sounds like walking on the same place near the  switch,  that's mean that you already press the switch. not sure though...
oh about that room with the save point, wich door is lock?, there are 3 doors, right?

Thumbs up

The southern and eastern doors are locked. You come in via the west one.

Thumbs up

ooh, I see... there is a mini boss on the eastern part of the forest, maybe you have to find it big_smile

Thumbs up

I eventually found the right switch so those two crystals are lit. But there doesn't seem to be anywhere to go on the middle path, just that crystal slate.

Thumbs up

If I remember right, the last of the three switches requirs you to take a route similar to what you've already done. I just don't remember what it is. sorry.

Thumbs up

I hate this place LOL. If it weren't necessary to advance the story I'd be tempted to say screw it.

Thumbs up

Definitely get that! Thi was my least favourite area of the game. lol

Thumbs up

It's definitely mine. ANd the frustrating part is I'm so close, at least to being done with this particular part of it. But I can't seem to find the way to the middle switch. There's one area I keep getting to with a pit and a treasure chest right on the opposite edge and then there's nowhere else to go but you can hear other monsters nearby. Either that or I tend to end up in that big watery area.

Thumbs up

Remember to use the field viewer with the f key to virtually browse the area. Pres enter to locate all the objects in the room, press escape once to go back to where you are on the map, press escape one more time to close the field viewer.

Thumbs up

The field viewer has actually never been much help to me to be quite honest.

Thumbs up

In fact it actually tends to confuse me more.
