The temple is located above the village of the snake people I'm not sure how to get things started from there

There's no temple there... what snake people? Either your translations are somehow different or you're understanding something differently. The only temple is the place you go after each story point to save and upgrade your weapon. If you're talking about the forest of wind which is north of the city... you can't even go in there until you've been inside the castle. Once you do that, you have to watch someone die before you get that ability.

Go to the throne room, and talk to the king. Just explore... it's not that hard to find. You'll be told where to go from there.

I'm on the second floor now should I talk to the person next to the sign? There's a door to the north and the door to the west but I can't get in those yet how can I get in
