Alter Aeon May 2017

This past month we added woodcrafting to go alongside our other crafting skills, leathercrafting and knapping.

We also released the first permanent quizmaster's tower for the starting island of Sloe, the Vemarken Tower of Learning.

Also released was the Giant's Knee, a high level xp area located in the Dunn Hurr, just southeast of Lake Jungfrau.

Next month we look forward to adding mining and fully functional ranged weapons!  Also, another high level area for the Dunn Hurr will be released!

For more information, please see our May 2017 monthly update audio presentation available on Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a25WTPqkw-w.

Also see our Spring 2017 quarterly update at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvcXB7MoL5I for our long-term goals.

There aren't any plans for an event in May, but that's because we're gearing up for our big summer event: the Summer Solstice Celebration, which will begin Saturday, June 3rd.  Mark it on your calendars, we hope to see you there!

Hi Shadowfax.
Welcome to the forum.

wow, wood carving is great, especially for my druid, I'll have to log back in and try it out.
I can say I'm loving the direction alter is going with the crafting skills.
Perhaps in the future ways of getting xp through crafting could be added, eg, npcs who will buy crafted items request you to make them.

Hello folks! Indeed Dark, a kind of random job involving crafted items would make crafting skills even more popular. And Shadowfax, it is nice to see you around. big_smile
Best regards, Haramir.

What is a quizmasters tower?

At Christmas there was a very cool event called the tower of challenge, where you had to go through, alternating level scaled fights or being asked questions about the mud.

I recall at the time there was talk of it being a feature coming to the game on a more permanent basis.
we are going to see towers like the one from Christmas, then that will be cool, it was a really fun event, a great way to go into a random area and both get challenged on mud lore and get some cool fights in, plus while I think there were a finite number of questions over all, they were somewhat randomized meaning that though I did the twoer  or four times I  see too many repeats, a great thing if you don't want to be bothered with specific questing, sort of like a random dungeon, or at least a dungeon of random challenges.

The quizmaster's towers don't have any fights, they're just about the questions. It's meant to be for new players to provide another way for them to learn how to find information. I heard they're going to be releasing more of them over time.
