Hello everyone,
So, I am a university student, and I have to frequently scan books, lectures, or documents of this nature. So far, I've been using an all-in-one printer which to be honest has done its job very well. But sometimes it doesn't give me the results I want. It shows dots, slashes, or random characters and numbers besides the text. So, which is a good book scanner, not regular photo scanner to buy. I've already picked a scanner from Plustek. It is the Opticbook 3900, but I may look at something else newer and better. I don't want a scanner with a document feeder built-in, I want a scanner with a paper tray. It would be great if the scanner had an external document feeder or sheet feeder, but that is not a necessity. If the paper tray is specialised for books, it would be perfect so that you don't need to destroy them.
Any answer is highly appreciated.
Cheers!

In my humble opinion, a flat bed portible scanner works well at least for me. Primarily because you don't have to worry about lighting because all you have to do is put the paper face down, close lid, and scan from application like Abi fine reader plug in or open book from freedom scientific or Kurzwheil 1000.
Warning: I haven't bought a scanner since like 2009 or earlier so technology probably is much better by now.
