go to the menus by pressing ollt, there are lots of menus, but there not

simple record,play and stop buttens!...
how do I find them?
and if I want

to mod a file [.wav or .mp3], what do I do?
but firstly,I nead to know how

Hi big-y,

I don't know about gold wave, but I use audacity. How

you record:

to record, press r. To stop, press space. To play your file,

press space again. And to convert a file type to another type, choose one of

the export options from the file menu.

i

don't use gold wave anymore, but i think it was control f9 to record,

control f8 to stop, and space to play.
both goldwave and audacity have a

lot of cool effects, audacity has it to change the pitch without changing

the tempo, and change the tempo without the pitch, but goldwave has the

power to sound your voice like an alien.
both two programs have also good

ability to remove noise such as fans. i hear my computer fan always when i

record, so just a bit of help from audacity or goldwave which i don't use

anymore and i'm fixed. if you set the slider to 0% in audacity, it will

affect very well. if you set it higher, it will reduce more sounds E.G. your

voice or whatever was supposed to not be removed, I've tried it out.
note

that you have to press control plus a to select all, in audacity and then

you can only apply changes. you may select a part of your file too, to apply

changes, but i'm afraid that's not accessible

hi

arjen
thanks alot
but another question:
so do you think audacity is

better then goldwav?
you sed you dont use it any more?
and if I have a wav

file of 6 gun shots, and I want to cut a part of the sound so it will be just

one gun sound
do you know what should I do?
thanks
big y

i

don't know about the cutting.
but, goldwave seemed to work slower. it

worked fine for a month or two, but it worked very very slow once and that

was probably because i was meessing around with the directX plugins.

Is that

tempo change thing accessible in audacity?

Hi orin,

Yeah it is.

Audacity is very good IMO.

Click and drag to get the audio you

want to play and then <Ctrl-T> to "trim" off the beginning and end of the

file. (Crop)
Finding the audio you want playing without "seeing" it is

gonna be a little tricky.

That's another thing, LCL. We don't click. We use the keyboard. That

would have to be something you consider in your games if you plan on making

them accessible. Thanks.

"We don't click. We use the keyboard."
Again good to hear you say,

I usually can only make one assumption at a time wink

I dont know of a way

to select a part of a sound file without clicking...which would make it hard

for sure.
I guess I was thinking about "blind" click and drag unil the

region you wanted was selected...
oooh, alternatly if you use iTunes, there

is a configuration for a sound file where you can set the start and end time

of a sound file...once it is set, it can be exported.

Is iTunes

accessible?

hi

mike
can you tell me where you get the goldwav skripts from?
and do you

know any sound forj skripts?
thanks

Oh so you're also using Sound FOrge?  Well I did very little work with

GoldWave and never got toomfamiliar with it but in 03 I bought SoundForge

Studio and learned of it's many commands.  In SF you could do the cropping

stuff using the arrow keys to movae around int he sound file which is very

cool since you can hear what you highlight when you do it by pressing space.

I don't know if audasity supports the arrows to move the cursor around in

the audio but if it does that'd be enough for me (that's one of the main

reasons I use sound forge, not for it's slightly subpar effects

smile.
