I played just a little bit, but I couldn't stream. Here are my thoughts so far.

Gameplay wise, it pretty much feels like Injustice1 from a casual standpoint. The returning characters have their same moves and combos. However, as they gain more items, they also gain additional moves. Now for competitive players, the game is faster than Injustice1 as we now have a meter burn dash that allows you to move across the screen extremely fast. it puts you in footsie  range from your opponent resetting the neutral game. Most casuals like using the super moves, so this will probably not matter to them.

accessibility wise, the only thing now is the interactive sound cues. That's it. Characters don't seem to have sounds at the select screen like MKX or Injustice1. Also, it's difficult to figure out if you are playing in regular mode or tournament mode. All I know is that once players select their character, you are given the option to select custom or tournament mode. I'll do more research on this.
Ugh I wish my contact at NRS was still around.

There is more, but I haven't had the chance to fully explore. I'll try my best to keep this updated.

Streaming Injustice2 on my Twitch channel if you want to chek it out.
Here's some injustice online gameplay if you guys want to check it out. I came across a really good player, so I didn't win any games. LOL.   I'm already learning some high-level stuff. This guy played a really good Supergirl.  https://youtu.be/yKjJOwqWY9k

Cool Stream, Death Rattlehead. Watched most of it and I do like the gameplay so far... still haven't gotten my beta code. Nice to see the accessibility cues are still there... but still noticing a problem that NRS has had since MK 9. The music just isn't... punchy. It's not a volume problem, the compositions are just... lacking impact, at least imho when compared to Killer Instinct and Street Fighter v. Still, sounds good... can't wait for my code, if I do get it.

@assault_freak

Thanks for checking out my stream dude. Much appreciated.

Yeah it's definitely noticeable in comparison to other fighters. Problem is, Dan Forden is no longer the music composer; he is now the director of sound and soundtrack. Other composers write the score and he reviews and approves it. I do like the sound of the fights even more now though. They sound realistic and like it hurts.

I'm currently learning about air teching and how to better utilize the MB Roll.

Oh one thing I forgot to mention is that, if you want to play tournament mode, both players have to approve it. I hope they change this. Btw, the message pops up right after you pick a stage.

I will be streaming tomorrow as well. I'm working on Supergirl to change the characters I use for testing. Don't want to stream not knowing any moves lol.

Yeah, I did know that, which is unfortunae because he is the reaso nthe first three MK games had the best soundtracks...

One point to contend though, is that the fights sound realistic... they certainly don't. Have you ever punched or kicked anyone? As a martial artist, I can definitively tell you that fighting games, no matter who makes them, do not have the least bit of realism in their sounds... save for the russel of clothes when moving or when you throw a punch or kick. I've never been sure where people, especially blind gamers, get the impression that certain fighting games can sound realistic. If you ever watch a fight or sparring session, you'll very quickly realize that any fighting game that tried to sound actually realistic would have almost no sound. It's the same assumption that people make which says that the sword drawing sound you hear in fantacy and epic films sounds like a real sword coming out of a sheath. lol

But that aside... I digress. That wasn't menat as an argumentative fact.. just an observation of mine. The game does sound great... not realistic, but certainly like it hurts.

My thoughts on the music:
I believe they weren't going for punchy, I think it's going for more of a dramatic appeal. Like for example, the Gotham Rooftop music in Injustice 1 was very drmatic, as if two high level assassins are dueling it out high above the city, and I like that.

I'm not afraid,
I'm giving into grievances again.
You're looking at an absolute zero,
I'm not the devil but I won't be your hero.

Dramatic requires at least some impact... the music just seems to have none of that, for some reason, even when I turn the level up. But everyone has their own taste, I suppose. This generation I think Street Fighter V and Killer Instinct win it so far. Won't know until Injustice 2 and Tekken 7 come out for sure, but so far it's those two.

Hi.
At assault freek, I dont have a new gen console to test out the demo of the game, but one question.
What do you mean by the music doesnt have any impact? Do you mean it's just flowing past without leaving a big impression, or what is it that you dont like about the music.
Greetings ;moritz.

You don't need a new console oto see that. If you played MK 9, x, or the first injustice, then you can probably spot it. But maybe I'm the only one who thinks this... in which case everyone can just dismiss this as me being too picky. lol But it's exactly like you said. For me, the music is just kind of their, and doesn't really stand out or hit hard the way I would want it to in a superhero battle seen. Even MK X is similar. The melody and compositions are pretty good in most cases, but there's something about the production and the actual instruments they used. The mix that the turned out in the game just... fell flat for some reason for me. Not that it stipped me... I've played through all the games, and will probably do the same with injustice 2 when it comes out. But even listening to the soundtrack on its own, there's just something missing.

I have to agree with what you're saying about the music, especially in regards to injustice  2.  I realise I have only heard a couple of stages so far, but it sounds so quiet and uninspiring.
One of the reasons I wanted to buy killer instinct for so long was the music .  That was a fantastic decision  .

Killer instinct, in my book, has the best music in the fighting game genre this gen. Street Fighter V isn't far behind, but KI takes the cake on this one. NRS has had this problem for a while. I haven't really liked any of their soundtracks since MK Deception, which was horrible gameplay wise, but had some of the best music from what was then Midway and is now NRS thanks to the efforts of Mr. Dan Forden who did a fantastic job. But if we're talking about Superhero music as in both Injustice games, then the best example is probably Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects, which, again while not a great fighting game, had a good soundtrack.

I agree about the music in the Injustice and mk games. mk9's music was OK but mkx didn't seem punch, Injustice's only real memorable tracks were menu and also fortress of solitude second arena. The others didn't reall have any real melody and seemed really odd. Injustice 2 has slightly more melody but I still don't think it has enough. I think they're going for dark, which is ok but I think they're using the dark undertone way too much for the whole franchise. Superheroes are dark, yes, but they also have to be epic, dramatic in scope, sometimes even bombastic, and Injustice has none of that. The music sounds ridiculously subdued at points!

Thumbs up

67

Oh no. It's very well possible to be dark and punchy... this game could keep the dark undertone and still have a lot of impact and scope. There's just something missing in the production and mastering of these tracks. The compositions aren't what I have a problem with.

@73
I've just tried to adjust to the fact that I'm not going to get one.  It seems a shame that more people with accessibility in mind, such as ourselves, other than Rattlehead and one other person I know of, have the beta, with Rattlehead being fortunate enough to have it on both platforms.

Seems like a wasted opportunity by NRS to convince those players who they know might be on the fence for reasons other than graphics that the game is worth pre-ordering/purchasin

I honestly don't think that's a consideration that even entered the equation... lol. I doubt NRS is even thinking about accessibility right now, and it doesn't figure into why we got a code or nt. We're just unlucky.. and they're likely picking emails at random.
