Hi all.
I'm now proud to announce, my Road to Rage server is alive. This has been requested by a lot of people, so I hope you'll enjoy it.
What is Road to Rage:
Road to rage is an online first person shooter, where the goal is to kill the other players. You pick up ammo and health packs, and do your best to kill the other players for fun.
I'm not the creator of this game. I'm only offering to host a hopefully stable server, because the project has been left alone for very long time, with no servers available. This is sad that such great and awesome a project is just being left alone because of either dead or unstable servers. So should we bring this awesome game back to life, shall we?
Road to Rage can be downloaded from the following link:
http://www.dragonapps.org/trtr_setup.exe
Install the game and run it. In the main menu, choose game options. Set your nickname, and go back to the main menu again.
Then choose start game, and server address.
The server address is:
server.coolfortheblind.dk
The port is default: 6789.
The rules is shown in the message of the day. They should be simple to follow.
As I'm writing this post, the goal is to test the server. The goal is to make it as stable as possible, and to configure it as people want. Right now I haven't changed much.
The future:
If people enjoy playing, I might start to make more maps to make it even more awesome. People are of course welcome to make maps as well. I haven't even looked at the map maker yet, but it is there, so it should be possible.
If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, then please post them here in the topic. I would like suggestions here in the topic instead on the server, because when I'm playing, I easily forget more important stuff. Lol.

The RTR server crashed yesterday because of an overflow. I've done my best to make it more stable. I'm sorry for the downtime, and I hope you'll give it a try again.

I'm not sure on why the server crashes. It seems like someone is trying to connect using a client which is not updated. I've now started to log the server so I can see what's going on. The server works as I'm writing this post, so I hope you'll give it a try again, and I hope it works this time. I'm sorry for the trouble, but I hope you have the patience to keep trying. Please let me know if there is any more trouble.

Hi.
Those maps are already added, and the server should change the maps automatically. It should change after a player have got 50 kills I think, and the time is set to 6000  minutes, where the map will change anyway after that time, if someone haven't got 50 kills.
People are still trying to connect with an outdated version of the client. Well, I can't do much about it when they don't post here to tell me what's going on at their end. But I'm really glad to see that some people have had fun today. big_smile

Hi.
I have no idea on why all those empty players shows up on the server. That might happen if peoples connection suddenly drops. I have checked the server log, and the only weird thing is that some people don't seem to disconnect, and there are still a lot of people who are trying to access the server with a different version of the game than the server. It's sad that those people won't post here in the topic and tell me what's going on. Banning them is not the way to go. Banning people is the absolutely last thing I wanna do.
The server is now restarted, and those empty players are gone. Happy playing... big_smile

No the server is not down.
Oh shit. I'm sorry that I haven't kept an eye on the server for long time. I don't have the time to restart the server at the moment because I'm on my way to the train in two minutes, but I'll restart the server to clear out those blank players tonight.
I'm so glad to see people are playing. I wasn't sure on how many who played the game on the server, but I'll keep an eye on the server more often in the future. Again, thanks for playing, and please let me know if you run into any issues.

wow I just remembered how much fun this game was just to have a bit of a blast with people, my one problem though is the fact that the MK14 never spawns... irritates me lol but I think that's a bug and not anything to do with the server

it hasn't been removed, server admin can still spawn it, I've seen it happen... it just doesn't spawn by default
