Well yes time for some news, that's how we always start news posts.  I admit though, it is something of a tortology sinse if it weren't time for some news we wouldn't be posting a news post so there is no use at all in telling everyone that it's time for some news sinse that's a fact people will gather by reason of the fact that news has indeed been posted, ----  just as it is being done right now.

However, I can say with complete certainty that it is time to point out that pointing out that it is time we had some news while posting news is a logical redundency is indeed a most necessary thing, sinse it's a thing we haven't pointed out before in all the years we have been pointing out that it is time for some news.

That serious problem out of the way, it is! actually time for some news, and for a totally different reason, we've had some very interesting developments on the game's front recently that people would likely want to hear about.

First off, Breaker box games, the makers of Airic the clerric  bring us Griff 2, a fantasy themed audio side scroller, sequel to last year's offering (amazingly called Griff). The griffin guardian with his magic gloves is back, pounding enemies into gold and grabbing them to add to his cash, gliding across pits, exploring mythological worlds and finding mysterious rune stones this time in an all new quest with a revolutionary new jumping system.
The game like it's predecessor can be purchiced for 15 usd, though a a Demo can be found here and A trailor here
And if you want to buy the game you can pay here

As usual any comments, cryticisms or diatribes can be dropped here on our forum  And if you happened to miss Griff's first adventure don't panic, just Run over here to Breakerbox and grab it

Next up,in This topic our very own Aprone alerted us of yet another one of these game things, --- I think he's made a few before if I remember rightly.
This one is set in the same universe as Lunimals his game of lunar colonization and ecological management. this time however, your not managing populations of animals, rather your finding ways to get rid of them. In charge of a track controlling a robotic arm, your job is to get rid of rats that have infested the experimental labs. Sound easy? the problem is your robotic arm runs on a very specific track from square to square, a track you'll need to build taking into account direction, power, switches and the position of innocent mice whom you don't want to squish by accident. This one is definitely for spacial puzzle fans and will have you scratching your head hugely, also it's absolutely free.
To downloadify this one, point your own robotic arm at your keyboard and hit Yonder link

Next up here's a game for everyone who just wants something to blow up. New developer guilevi, responsable for some mind bending sound rts mods, together with Oriol Gomez, famous for such titles as Beat star and of course the awesome Alter aeon soundpack, has worked on an audio adaptation of a classic and extremely tricky nintendo game. In Villains from beyond, strap into your high tech fighter and use bombs and bullets to take out fighters, ground bases and soul towers. "Oh yes another space invaders clone" I hear everyone grone. Nope, this is actually a vertical shooter, meaning your ship moves constantly forward as in a racing game, with speed you can control with the arrows. Furthermore, enemies can be located in the air or on the groundd, needing different weapons and stratogies.
Boss mother ships, power ups, and a classic 8 bit Nintendo style interface will have arcade junkies right at home, particularly sinse this game is pretty tough, ---- pretty tough in the way that rock is pretty tough as compared to cream, fortunately, it is also free.
There is of course Yonder topic for your discussing pleasures, and you can Get grab happy here

Finally, we have something rather different. New developer Pragma from France has fulfilled not one, but two long time requests of people kicking around the community. The first, for a party style game combining boardgame mechanics with arcade style minigames playable with friends. The second, for a collectable card game battle system with strategical rpg like battles.
Both of these come up in the new game, Crazy party.

Playable in English or en français (just select which version you want), the game has various modes. Adventure mode lets you run through various zones trying one of a number (over a hundred in all), of audio minigames, earning coins and progressing. unlock enough games, and you can challenge your friends online.
Board mode has similar minigames, but combines with movement around a board with random winning and losing of coins on different squares and other affects, again, perfect for online play.

The battle part of the game involves fighting against various gyms of different types of creatures, winning cards of that type. Use the cards to build decs to take on stronger creatures or indeed friends online.
All of this available for the grand price of zero dollars, or pounds or zero of whatever other currency.
The two versions of the game can be found here (instructs on the website). while there is of course a place for much chatterment just here on our forum

And after that monumental amount of newsily nutrition, one thing is! certain, that it is definitely and most certainly time for me to wrap this up and go and work on my logic, ---- or just play some more Crazy party.

Dark,
You left out the most momentous news from our dear Chief defenestrator.
Dark is getting married to his paramour from across the pond.
It sounds like he will use his yacht to travel as he will be away from the UK for two months.
He claims he will still be continuing his moderation of this Forum,
but I suspect he will tend to have other things enriching, and preoccupying his time.
Congratulations!
Phil
