For those wondering, I'm just passing along the info about it here, for those who aren't on the Eyes-Free list.
It is based on Talkback 4.3.1, which is now Open Source on GitHub:

, and the goal was to make the sounds less midi-like, thus why it was born.

You can subscribe to the eyes-free list in one of two ways:
Option 1. Head on over to the official Eyes-Free Page On Google Groups , and click the "Join" button you'll find on the page, (which is also the group's "archive" for finding messages.)
Side Note:
Press the "question-mark" key, for a list of "keyboard shortcuts" that can be used while Browse Mode keys are turnned off, which most screen readers have a feature to do that now, (if needed.)
Option 2. Send a "blank" email to:
[email protected]
, with your email client of choice.
Side Note:
A "test" email is "not" necessary, since you can double check it sent to the group by using the "Eyes-Free" page.[You can "post" to the group by using:
[email protected]
, or "unsubscribe" from the group by using [email protected]
Hello, an interesting project that is I have to addmitt.
Just one quick question, is there a way to turn this thing on completely with out sighted assistance?
As far as I heard, you have to dissable talkback to enable this new version.
Is there another way?

hold down power for 2 seconds or so, then place 2 fingers on screen and hold till it says something.
Unsure if it will bring up the nwer talkback or not.
You'll if it brings it up do too te newer sounds.

Before I mess around with the new talkback I want to ask if you need to enable that two finger gesture anywhere?
When I first set up my phone, this gesture did'nt have an effect.
I am using an htc one m7.

It should already be set up to work in the accessibility settings.
An alternative way to activate mushy, is once you find the alternate talkback, turn it on, then use explore by touch to disable the other one, as swiping will not work do to two talkbacks running.
Once ya turn off the normal talkback, thing should become a bit nicer.

Ah, talkback sounds so much better right now, these dings and dongs got on my nerves up to this moment.
I'm just wondering, how much programing do you need to do to create a new sound theme for talkback?
