I actually use the knife on Carmilla, since it keeps her stunned and you can usually keep up with her attempts at retreating. The sword does the same with more range, sure, but it's slower and easier to screw up the rhythm so she can break out of it. Also I kinda feel like it's bad that this tactic is viable and I hope it doesn't work so well on higher difficulties.

there really should be a stage / adventure creator, where you can create your own enemies, with there own characteristics, or change behaviors of existing ones in a stage. You should need to beat the game on like normal or something

oh no, if there is a creator, then you need to beet the game in hard or very hard modes to unlock it

thing about hard is it's so so so imballenced, because the zombie boss kills you in three hits and angel's breath's don't help, because he has too much health to kill him before you've used all of them

I liked the game in general, but it was short, for me. In other hand, I dont liked the end lol

ending is... something that doesn't werth about 2h of work IMO, but we had games that are worse then the gate.

@9 for $30 the gate isn't bad at all. The gate it actually worth the
$30. The sounds, game play, and enemies are amazing.

Hi everyone,
I found a sollution for jumping over the holes in The Gate. Once you get next to the second floorboard, press CTRL along with the Up arrow and the Right arrow. I don't know whether this will work 100 percent of the time, but it's worth trying. For a first boss, I expected the Grey Lady to be much simpler to beat, but she's incredibly hard to beat! I'm starting to get a little bit annoyed with her! I feel that I need to throw my PC out the window or something to release my frustration. How can I beat this maddeningly difficult boss, even on the easiest difficulty level there is? Wow! Thirty dollars for a ten-level game? It's a very high price for a game like this, isn't it?

The grey lady is all about speed and timing. Don't get too far away or she will teleport to you. Don't stay too close unless you're using the knife, and even then be quick about it.

I have to agree with afsilva90 about the Grey Lady, after using up my lives and starting over half a dozen times I gave up and uninstalled the game. I figure that if the boss at the beginning of level three is that hard even on the easiest difficulty level, then there's no point in bothering with the rest of the game. That means I can use my $30 on some other game that gives me a challenge but also gives me a reasonable chance at beating it. I play games to be challenged and entertained, not frustrated.

@420, The Gate is worth at most $15. At least, that's about how much it would be if it was released as an indie mainstream game.
