This game just got even more awesome after I found the strategy menu only opens while your character is totally still. Was trying to beat 17.4 with no speed potion because I thought you couldn't open the strategy menu for that level or something. Turns out you just can't open it while you're 3 squares up with a laser up your arse heheh.

What does the dial on 18.3 do? The text makes no sense to me.

2017-06-08 03:33:33

the dial influences a couple different secrets on a number of different stages, I'm not sure anyone has a full list anywhere

At stage 1 you only have the weapons you've been given. Can't remember but I think the best you have is a short sword. I think it's more a case of dodging his blows than having a powerful weapon. Try jumping over him turning and striking, then jump back over and turn and strike. Basically you just need to hit and avoid hit and avoid until you nail it. It's often as much luck as judgement. Actually I think you have a plate launcher that was in a box of weapons that you have to break open earlier in the stage. If you have plates, that's your best bet.

Does anyone have any specifics about the dial on 18? All I've got so far is that it alters what stuff falls on 18.2. It got me a super yoyo, but I'd like to check out some other stuff too. Cheers.

There are actually a couple different weapons you get... and they help a great deal. The plate launcher works, but it also needs ammunition you can't get until later... so it's better not to waste it. It definitely isn't hard to kill the first boss, and no luck required either. smile

What's the deal with the 7 stones that say give me the nuts of chaos? All I know is I'm supposed to jump on them in order with the jump shoes. So I jump on them and smash them in order, but it just says phew something something and I'm back in the stage selection menu. Am I supposed to get something, or does it change something in another stage or what? Or am I doing it wrong?

2017-06-08 20:57:02

notice how when you hit something with the jump shoes, you kinda bounce back up?
that should give you a pretty good idea of what to do

Hi all, so, i have one problem. When i have completed all the game on normal and on eeven exciting, when i go to stage 20.3 to get the magical ball. I go to 39 0 then use super UFO to raise to 28, then go to 41 28 and press space, but platform with the ball doesn't appear. Maybe i need to complete some difficulty to get the magical ball? If it's a bug, well, i hope yukio still monitoring this topic.

I'm currently stuck on 21.2. I can get past the cameras alright, but I don't know what to do about that wall that has two cameras on it and seems to stretch from floor to ceiling about halfway along the level. It can't be hooked onto, and there seems to be no break in it apart from where the cameras are. I've tried everything I can think of. I destroyed every camera I could reach on this side of the barrier. Killed everything that came as a result until it's a barren wasteland. Can't find any switches or anything like that. The only odd things are that little square at the bottom left that I can't seem to get into and a platform really high up that can't be hooked even if I could get up that high.  Nothing is showing up on object menu. Just can't figure out what I'm supposed to do.

you missed the ladder going up I think, lol

Oh you've got to be joking me. I thought that ladder took you down to the floor from that little platform. I haven't touched a ladder since I got the hook. Is there an idiot of the year award with this game? BTW, how do you change weapon behaviour with things like the water launcher. Apparently there's menus you can open that change how things like that fire. I've tried R but it does nothing. I've tried every key on the board actually, and translated the readme again, and scoured this forum for keywords.

2017-06-10 14:04:05

it is R, yes... but it only works with certain weapons

Anyone know what the pattern is behind the number puzzle on stage 23? 15 55 120 210. I knew the answer because I read it on here by accident a week or so ago and it stuck in my head. I would never have solved it directly though. Even with the answer I can't find an elegant pattern.
The only thing I can see they have in common is multiples of 5: 3, 11, 24, 42. And I can spot kind of a pattern in the way they grow, but it's not neat. It goes 8, 13, 18, which are all plus 5. As in 3+8=11, 11+13=24, 24+18=42.
It has to be neater than that. I mean, after all those easy number puzzles, why suddenly one that ordinary non-math people would have a hard time solving? It seems a bit harsh for a game. If I'd been playing this game in isolation, and there weren't a forum like this where you could find the answer, I probably would have got past that stage, but only by trying every multiple of 5 from about 180 up.

They're the triangular numbers.
The first triangular number is 1. The second is 1+2, so 3. The third is 3+3, 6. 6+4 = 10. 10+5 = 15. Etc.
You can also work them out with the formula f(n) = n(n+1)/2 where n is the nth term in the sequence.
Therefore 15 is the fifth triangular number, 55 is the 10th, etc. I agree its an unfair puzzle.

Deep in the human unconscious is a pervasive need for a logical universe that makes sense. But the real universe is always one step beyond logic.

For everyone who has problems finding the platform at 20-3:
For some unknown reason, the map file for 20-3 doesn't get updated for a few players. Please download and overwrite this file to solve the problem:

for that particular puzzle box, my solution was this
15+40 = 55
120-55 = 65
addition, with the amount you add going up by 25 each time
65+25 = 90
120+90 = 210
bingo

Everything you guys said makes sence and I've forgotten what the first theory I came up with was.

i can pley online?

2017-06-12 16:10:18

Damn it, you can't, you've asked it before.

2017-06-12 22:45:48

What's interesting is that my cumbersome pattern and dd's niftier one both produce the same next number in the sequence: 325. dd's says 90+25=115 added to 210 makes 325. Mine says 18+5=23, 23+42=65, 65X5=325. They obviously have something in common, but I can't see it.

2017-06-12 22:58:44 (edited by flackers 2017-06-12 23:20:46)

Something else I found out just now is that even though I got past the carts on 21-3 using stealth, I went back and checked to see and found you can put a box in front of them and they turn around at that point, so you can literally box them in. I found it quite funny to sneak along right behind them and try to put a box down as close to the edge of the wall as possible to make their patrol as limited as I could. The trouble is you have to be 20 squares away when they turn so I think it's impossible to box them in to a single square.

2017-06-13 01:48:33

Box them, lol
