hi guys,
As you all know, windows 10 has been released quite a while now. and now, NVDA has also support for this new OS. and I want to try this out. I want to install windows 10 home 64 bit on my machine. is there a basic talking winPE available to do a clean install of windows 10?

Thanks.

Hi.

Once you download the windows ten setup tool from microsoft, run it and it will start installing windows ten, that will take about half an hour, depending on your internet speed; then your computer will restart twice or three times, what the program is doing is installing the necessary files that are needed to run the OS.

Tip; You can run narator while this is going on by pressing and holding down the windows key and pressing the enter key.
Hear are the narator shortcuts you'll need:

To move left and right, capslock key plus either left or right arrow.
To click on an item; Capslock key plus space.

That's all you'll need for narator.

Once everything is set up; NVDA should start talking straight away.

I'm not sure on a full delete and install windows thing since I've not done it.

I hope this helps and if not, I'm sure someone else will help on this thread.

I'm gone for real :)

you can use bryan's image from www.bryansmart.com even though it's originally made for win7 it will work with 10.E]If you want something more advanced you can purchase winstaller from www.levtec.linkpc.net

Hi.

I don't understand why someone would want to  do a fresh install of windows ten when you can just download the windows ten tool, upgrade and be done with it? can someone explain to me the reason why someone might want to do a total wipe of there system and install windows ten?

I'm gone for real :)

@brad

Doing a clean installation helps to get rid of bloatware which you might not want to infect your new Windows 10 installation.

I personally always prefer clean installation over upgrading the system, because the upgrade often goes wrong -- a software package which worked in Windows 8.1 doesn't work so well in Windows 10 but Microsoft doesn't handle all these situations well, and from an accessibility point having more bloat is almost never  good.

@Socheat

You can use my Win81PENVDA uploaded to Zippyshare in another thread.

Note that in order to take advantage of the free upgrade to Windows 10, you  must first do an upgrade over your genuine and licensed Windows 7 or 8
.1 installation otherwise Microsoft does not recognize your system as eligible  for the free upgrade.

After completing the upgrade, your computer gets a unique hardware ID which can now be used to active your device even through a clean installation.

Microsoft remembers the hardware ID so you if you ever need to re-install Windows 10, you wont have to reenter any product key.

hi,
@Gellman

Does your windows 81PENNVDA supports windows 64 bit installation? because as I see from BryanSmart's basic talking installer, it doesn't support windows 64 bit installation.

@Socheat
Yes, my Win81PENVDA supports Windows X64 (64 bit):

Hmm, there are two versions of it. which one should I chose.

@Socheat
Download the VHD image if you want to install from usb, or download the ISO if you want to install from an optical drive or from inside a virtual machine.

You can also convert the ISO to bootable usb drive with Rufus, but its interface is not fully accessible with Nvda and if you have a usb drive, it's easier just to mount the VHD image and copy the contents to the FAT formated drive.

Hi,
I am planning to update my win7 laptop to Windows10, but I am not sure if Jaws13 would work as smooth as with Windows7, because originally they officially don't support Windows10 with jaws13 yet.
I know, Jaws13 is kinda oldfashioned, but I used all my available updates and don't actually feel like spending 500--€ for a new package of updates at this time, because Jaws13 actually fulfilled my needs so far.

Feel free to check my blog at

windows 10 is works with the final version of jaws. this time it works with j16.0.4350. But I won't recommend you upgrade your jaws this time. if you can use NVDA, stick with NVDA instead.

Hello. I noticed the files say something like part 1 or part 2. Do you have to download all 4 files or whatever?

@austingrace

Download the recent version either X86 or X64bit from here:

This version is based on Windows 8.1 and supports SecureBoot and UEFI.
