The Clapping song is still making great progress. For drums I decided to use the drum kit from the SNES Street Fighter II as opposed to the Earthbound one (originally I used CPS1 SF2 samples that I got thanks to Audacity's Import Raw Data function). For vocals, I decided to switch from Vocaloid to WPTTS, because it's better at handling talking and singing parts at the same time from my experience, since I could just switch the voicing mode parameter from normal to sing, and back again  in a few verses. For the preset voice, I decided to use Milktoast because to me, he sounds more like Barney to me, anyway, though if I have to tweak a few formants, I'll do that.
As for the other song you mentioned, I am still looking for a backing track for said song, and if I can't find it, I'll just make my own, since I have a Sunsoft 5B instrumental that I am working on with Famitracker in case I can't find one.

And as opposed to using my TNS-HFC cart for the 5B instrumental, I will be playing it back through NSFPlay, even though the TNS-HFC5 supports 5B NSFs thanks to a S5B derived chip.

I also have a finished 2a03 backing track of that song. please note it was not made by me. It's actually taken from a karaoke cartridge for the famicom (yes, I said famicom, not nes). if you want you could do 2 versions of the song: one with the backing track you're already working on and one using this one:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/n6pz03ddh8skv … n.mp3?dl=0
also here is the nsf of another karaoke cartridge, this time an unlicenced one (and with mostly childrens songs at that!). one of the songs in that one is there are 7 days.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/9ctueo5ifusyo … 9.nsf?dl=0
note: at the time of posting this, dropbox is still uploading a bunch of nsf files, so the links may or may not work right now. they should be dun uploading in an hour, at lost.

I actually know about the unlicensed NSFs themselves as a friend of mine had it when she was little, and for her birthday she actually got that as a birthday present. This was back when she was 2 or 3 back in the early 2000s or something. I don't know if I have other NSFs from that series itself though since my NSF collection is huge, and plus I don't play that many NSFs on my TNS-HFC cart itself, which you could technically use for the NES if you had an adapter, but since it was a frontloader, there wouldn't be a way to hit any buttons on the cart, which were used for loading the Previous or Next NSF file, since there were no menus to select from, so I just stick 1 NSF file on an SD card anyway.
Thanks for the backing track BTW.

Also is there a link where I can get the lyrics for the song? Just wondering. I ask this because when I was first looking for videos for the lyrics, I only came across this track, and this is what I based the backing track on.

@family mario, I believe the lyrics for inu no yamawaru san can be found on the following site:
www.mamalisa.com
this site has tunesof childrens songs from around the world, some with recordings and/or midi vacking tracks available.
as for the aoter songs, what's the pgrogrss on them. I'm assuming you suddenly decided to go for softvoice only for my family's just right for me as well?

I'm still using Vocaloid for My Family's Just Right For Me, except for the speaking parts of said song.

OK. BTW I never got that link to the vocaloid voices. if you need my email address, the one I use for my youtube channels is [email protected], and my main one is [email protected]. please use these emails if you don't feel like posting the link here.

an update. I looked on the website I linked to earlier, and looks like the owner was living under a rock, because while they did have several Japanese childrens songs, it did not have inu no amawari san. fortunately, I accidentally found the lyrics to it on another site while looking for a midi backing track for use as theme music for my sing along with kit series on stl:
http://touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Lyrics:_...
btw, how are all the songs going along? I'm assuming you are still hard at work making the vocal files?

Yes I am. In regards to the Vocaloid voices pack, I will still be able to send it to you, so you can expect that file. Don't know when, but you will be able to get it.
Thanks for the site in the previous post, by the way.

@family Mario, I have another idea of a song you could do for the album: "my mother is a baker" by Dr. Jean. this would be a good way of demonstrating wptts's ability to change voice in the middle of a file (or song in this case) ans each verse is for a specific character. jean herself uploaded the original song on youtube.

Really well. Once I get to a decent stopping point I will upload a sneak peak as to what you can expect. The samples will be five or ten seconds long depending on the song, but obviously there is way more than what will be in the samples.

That sounds great.
Update: The songs using WPTTS are still using it, for now. I say for now because I am in the process of getting a new Chipspeech license because apparently my other one wouldn't work for some strange reason, so for now they'll still be using WPTTS. Don't worry. I still have files for Lady Parsec singing There are Seven Days on a USB stick, so you'll still get to hear that, both her original and her HD Remix version, possibly two separate files or as a duet.

2016-06-02 17:55:57

the winny the pooh backing track has been uploaded! I used a newly released amiga sound font for this one. the link also includes a download link for the soundfont (or rather a pack of all the soundfonts made by trevor james, who created the soundfont used).

I am considering switching to Chipspeech if WPTTS doesn't work out for talking parts, since in my opinion, it's easier making it talk than it is with VOCALOID.

OK. Also, would you be interested in doing a version of this new song that super english kid recorded yesterday?
