hi,
for the past 2 days i've been having trouble with skype.
i go to log on, type in my user and password which i know are correct and it doesn't log in, it doesn't do anything, then i reopen it hours later and i see my contacts, but i'm obviously offline.
i've sent error reports but have recieved no reply, i even went so far as to uninstall my skype, and redownlad it from skype.com.
it did nothing.
can anyone advise me on what to do?

hi archer,
i did not even read your post i knew what it contained instantly. and what this problem is, major server issues. that is, this problem is global and skype are attempting to fix it as fast as possible.
for me it says, connecting, connecting, and of course it just won't sign in.

thanks for your replies guys, i was really afraid i had a virus or something.
but on another topic, i downloaded the latest version of skype, and for some reason my SKread is not working.
does it only work with certain versions? what can i do to make it work again, without it i can't read chat messages anymore.

Note on skype: d3.5 is not very compatable with other versions.

does it pop up any window about another program wants to use skype? if so allow it to. then you should be fine.

they are having technical difficulties but right now as i speak, i am talking to someone, so it clearly works.

I have never had these problems, wierd.
Anyway, I think some other problems are its so hard to exit chats.  You have to mess with your jaws kersers and its annoying.,
