Bloody hell, I was recently given such, too!

Will grab and check against my copy. To be honest though, I don't know the provenance or legitimacy of these things.

I wonder why I forgot? No, serious question …

Edit: no dice; the server has IPv6 enabled, but refuses download requests from IPv6 clients. Bloody silly; surely, if they know they can't support IPv6, why advertise it in DNS? You'll have to host it elsewhere.

Just myself, as usual.

hello Seby, the page works just fine on my end. I cant host it anywhear else. let's see if anyone else has this same problem. if I get a high demand, I will drop box it.

@Mayson: going now--very, very slowly though. Ta.

@gellman: got it, ta. Will verify.

So, this is to be booted up on an EFI machine, or you must have a copy of the bootsect tool to render an MBR disk bootable, then?

I will put together an archive of what I have and chuck it up for you to experiment with.

Just myself, as usual.

Can someone go into more detail as to what this is?

Best regards,

Luke

What game will hadi.gsf want to play next?

OK, so I'm uploading both the already-mentioned disk.zip for when somebody figures out if or whether it actually works, and then the bundle of four self-extracting files I already have (possibly including the above installer) in the tar archive Win7PEWithNVDA-Bundle.tar. The links will work when they're up.

@leibylucwgamer: that is something we will have to figure out, but it looks like the contents of the PE DVD.

Just myself, as usual.

HI all! I have  verified that it works. I was able to install windows 8.1 64 bit succesfully without sited help!

2015-01-27 12:44:47

Hello, I recently downloaded the file.
What do I have to do to install for example windows 8.1 or another operating system on a computer?
Greetings Moritz.

Hail the unholy church of Satan, go share it's greatness.

Even without having the build sourcecode, you can still tweak the bootable project.

(1) Uncompress the iso.

(2) Mount the wim file.

(3) Make all your modifications of the WIM folder structure.

A wim file contains Windows folders, files  and a registry and these can be modified even from a live system.

Tangentially related, I'm sure, but where do you get Windows 8.1 from? I only have a Windows 8 DVD; I didn't know 8.1 was available as a DVD yet.

If this was a talking windows 10 installation, I'd grab it. Sadly, its not, so yeah.

Alternative download links for the bundle in case Sebby's server is down or slow:

These probably are only valid for 30 days.

How exactly does this disc work? Do I need another disc with the version of windows I am trying to install? Do I put the version of windows on a USB? It seems really interesting, but I'm confused as to what I need to do to make this work.

Same question. Otherwise I would set about reformatting this laptop of mine that needs desperate help. lol

What is the differents between bryan smart's project with this one?

2015-01-28 15:45:40

His only ran on 32 bit machines, if I remember correctly.
I've managed to get this one on a USB drive and booted up, but it just seems to be a desktop with a bunch of system related programs. Not sure how to do the windows installation part, though NVDA is working beautifully

@Dranelement

WinPE means Windows Preinstallation Environment and it's a bearbone Windows used to recover, troubleshoot and install Windows.

Yes, you can install Windows from WINPE, and the source files can be on the same drive as the bootable Windows.

Just create a bootable usb of the talking WinPE and create a subfolder for your entire Windows setup files.

Now after booting up the talking environment start the Windows setup and proceed with the installation.

Before starting investigate if you have a full bootable Windows dvd, and if it will let you clean install Windows.

Hi, yes, I do have a windows dvd. Do I just rip it to a folder on the USB?

@Dranelement
Yes, just copy the contents of the dvd to a subfolder on the usb and after booting into the talking environment, start the Windows setup.

Backup all important files on the host partition before trying this experiment.

@gellman: ta.

I'll test this out shortly; it will be on a Mac which should make things very interesting.  Anyone know which version of WinPE is in use?  If it's Win8, that would make it EFI-bootable on Macs.

Just myself, as usual.

2015-01-29 07:09:57

Looks like Win7, but it's possible to create a Win7 based WinPE which will boot from
UEFI.

Others have succeeded but I currently have no mac  to test it.

Have so far booted the iso in VMWare Player and it works.
The only thing I would like to modify is  replacing the NVDA+Espeak with NVDA+Eloquence.
