Sorry, just the traditional rush for christmas, it's always a busy time for elves (well it is if the elves know what's good for them).

First off, the long awaited sequel to Death match project alpha is up and ready for your delectation. This is an entirely online scifi role playing game, with combat against aliens, asteroid mining and great side scrolling action in a dark and ever expanding galaxy. Welcome to the first public beta, which has many features of the game. To grab your spaceship and start exploring, Grab the beta here and don't forget to leave any comments, questions and especially those reportings of bugs in Yonder topic.

Then of course, there are the traditional joys of christmas, spending time with chestnuts, relatives roasting on an open fire, the happy smiling sparcle of decorations, hanging children from the Christmas tree! not to mention all your favourite Mmorpgs having a good old festive fist up!
Alteraeon is no exception, with new areas, the traditional advent callindar and more updates than you can shake a stick at. Check out said updates in Yonder topic.

Another Christmas tradition here at audiogames.net, is the good people at Rs games adding yet another offering to their array of free online accessible games, ranging from Uno to Farcle. They've added a new one, Toss up as well as some new features see  This topic for details.

Finally, we have some news for those of you who long for a simpler time, an a more traditional christmas. A time when giant armies of distructive robots romed the earth and all a mad scientist had to do to become leader of the world was be efficient enough in robo design! choiceofgames have a new one, and one with %40 off until January. Choice of robots is an interactive gamebook where you get to try your hand at robot creation, help humanity or replace them, take over the world or just make yourself the perfect robot partner, it's all up to you. And speaking of discounts, as reported Here on our forum  Ticon blu, have knocked all their Ios titles down to 7 usd over the festive period, so if you fancied inviting The inquisitor round for christmas, (he'd be great with a nut cracker), or having an Audio speedy Spaceship in your stocking, now is the time.

Now please excuse me, I need to go and harnice up the grues for tonight:

"On grusome! on toothsome! on bighter and bitten! On slayer, on Fleyer, on kill her and kill him! and don't forget Guthwolf, the red fanged grue!"

Thanks for mentioning dmnb on the news post, just a slite correction though that dmnb is a full 2d game, not a side scroller, and as of now currently ground combat isn't in, so you can't really fight monster aliens just yet.

@Danny, side scroller and 2D essentially mean the same thing, it's just that technically most audio games like Superliam and Q9 have actually been 1D side scrollers not 2D ones.

I'll certainly explain all the game mechanics when I get around to writing an entry for Deathmatch a new beginning as I have on the page for project alpha.

Ahh. I thought you were meaning side scroller as in just using left and right aeros to walk, because we use all 4 aeros to move around, instead of just walking left and right.

Nope, indeed in graphical games all side scrollers have had some degree of vertical movement as well as going sideways, I think in fact the 1D left/right side scroller is something unique to audio, or at least the only graphical examples I can think of were very early atari games like moon patrol, (and even that had a space invaders element to it).
