I'm at the same point, though I only spent about 5 or so minutes in the organ room, going to take another look around.

I do love flame blizzard lol. It's a fun one to time out, and it's the only one that is more powerful than just rolling my dice. I managed to get 5 of those so far, how many can you get on normal?

A comment about space and size of locations... this isn't actually that big. It may feel big, but that's mostly because most people playing this game haven't really played any jrpg's in the typical sense of the word... most console rpgs have spaces about this size, some even bigger. One series I like a lot is a huge city that just has buildings and whatnot for you to go into, and that's all spread over one map. Even shadow Line, one of the Japanese action rpgs, has a lot of areas with a lot of twists and turns.

those games you forget are totally visual, and shadow line gives you sound ques to let you know which way to go and if there's a dead end or not, it also tells you where the doors are at. This game, it's sorta like oh hey let me just draw some crazy lines and good luck to you finding your way through heh. those aren't even the ones I would like to have down sized those are fine, the ones that I'd like to have downsized are the ones without items, the dining area for instance, I understand there's a few treasures etc in rooms like that, but still. takes ages. In other news

This was against a god killer lol. Still haven't found anything other than that organ room, not sure what to do now, I've gone around this level probably a bagillion times already. Stewie if you figure it out would you let me know?

omfg, right as I said that I found an area I hadn't visited yet. lol. this is a pretty good example of what I just said too.

Well, SR doesn't actually give sound cues as to where to go... it's very easy to get lost. But I think the space is fine, the game is just missing some important things like sounds to notifying you when you can turn and the like. As for the games being visual, well, so is living in real life... but I digress. I do agree that it is a little confusing... some more sounds to signal possible turns or other areas to go would be very helpful.

hi
maybe hu can recording this game?
thanks

I am so impressed about the game that I just bought it yesterday. Great work so far, Keep it up. I never played such a great game before.

2014-08-01 09:32:59

I actually like the navigation system.. it's very easy to know when to turn. if you go close to a wall when there is a turn the sound will stop.

there are items in the middle of the rooms, so you can stick to the walls, but you'll miss the treasures and galactic dusts, not to mention all the potions and free coins.

I think that the escaping chance should be lowered. I am able to escape a battle every time I try.

hi about the escaping thingy, I think he hasn't even coded in that you can maby fail to escape. personally, I'm glad of that because when I want to fight a boss, i don't want to fight anything else because my health might decrees. and if I've learned one thing, it's that one health point more can save your life. I love the game so far, and it seems to be a very long story to play. I can't really see an end in site yet, though from reading the story I'm prosooming that I'm about half way through the game.

I've just found the electronics room dungeon thingy from the teleporter in the gaming room.
spoiler end.
actually about the dragon strike scrols, it's not about timing, it's all about  rrythm. the way I do it, is when I get a scrol, I listen to it a cupple of times, then I try to press alt at the right time my self. after that, I can usually use it in combat most of the time. I've realised some of the bosses actually can't be harmed by the dice or the knife, so you need to use a dragon scrol. the soundtrack is also awesome. I'd really like to know where you got it from.

I used to be a knee like you, then I took an adventurer in the arrow.

You can fail escapees, it's just rare. I'm a little stuck right now.
spoilers ahead
I'm behind the bar with the drug dealers etc, and I made it to the save point with the line of teleporters, but from what I can tell there isn't any but the same one that leads back to the beginning of the area, not sure where to go from here. Going to go through after I wake up and see maybe if there is a gap in the line that you can sitle through.
spoilers end.

hello guys,

what i am wondering with this title is:
1. does it have replay?
2. if people are completing the 3 dungens so quickly is the price worth it given that it seems an "easy" in quotes, game to complete?
admittedly i have not tried it yet, but i will do when i get windows on my macbook air.
just wondering people's thoughts?

An issue I have with the game (and if this was mentioned earlier I missed it) is the music. Much of it from what I've gathered comes from composer Kevin MacLeod. On the surface, this isn't a problem, he offers much of his work under a royalty-free license. However, that is for noncommercial projects only. By definition, this game isn't a noncommercial project. Therefore, unless the rights to use the music were obtained, I see problems with it going forward. I like the idea and the execution. I just don't want to see something go ahead with out the appropriate steps being taken.

Hi, I just bought the game. I can't wait to play it!!! I'd still love to hear the game in play.  Thanks a lot.

2014-08-01 13:12:20

In a future Version, I think some more mini games could be good as well, especially in the game themed attractions like the Casino.

2014-08-01 14:11:36

Hi,

this game is really great! I already got the full version. I wished for such a game in English for quite a while, thanks for making it!

Now, a few things about the game.

The timing on dragon scrolls is kind of hard, but I think it's doable with practice. The idea to make it somewhat easier in normal mode could be an option tough.

Screen reader support would be great, even if I don't mind playing with sapi, since I have a really good English voice for it.

Navigation is perfectly fine for me. I like the concept with the wall tones stopping when there is a gap, this is much more comfortable than to constantly bump into walls to find an exit. I don't mind the large rooms either, there's just exploring needed if you want to find items lying around, that's not really difficult I think.
Yeah, to be able to browse the map without moving is great and everything, but I really don't want to memorize the map before I even moved, just to be able to find my way around. Like I said, I like the navigation as it is. Though I understand when some find the wall tones a bit confusing or just unconfortable because of the constant beeping, but I got used to it after a while. Footsteps and sounds in combat would be great though, as well as some kind of ambiance.

I also like minigames, and since there are multiple areas in the ship which could host some, it would be great to see more of those. I do like the air hockey one, at least since I got the hang of it. big_smile

By the way, the speakers in the lounge are cool. big_smile

Just one thing I don't like so much, and that are the hidden items. When there are items which make no sound and you can walk over them and don't bump into them, this means that you generally have to press enter on every step you thake, just at the slim chance you might find something. This is quite tedious, and I honestly don't do it because it would just take ages. Maybe it would be enough to just make the items without sounds to hear from a distance but make it so that you bump into them when you find them? That would be enough to classify them as hidden I think. Or if not, at least give some hint in which area to look for them, not just some vague thing about passages and large rooms. There are many of those, and like I said it would take ages to check every square.

I really hope enough people buy this really good game to make it possible to add some more sounds, that would be really great! Like I said, I love it and will certainly play nothing else for quite a while I guess. big_smile

2014-08-01 15:07:04

No, that wouldn't make them hidden.  The point of hidden items is that the player doesn't see them and you have to look.  Though even in JRPG's the maps are not that huge in diners and such.  I've played plenty of them, own plenty in fact, and I don't think many maps are as big as this ships maps are.

AstralAudio,
I purchased Kevin's entire mp3 package for seventy USD.
Before doing this, I emailed, asking him if I could use them commercially and how to credit him.
I made sure I had proper permissions for each of the songs used.

Tikki, generally the hidden items are in generic spots, E.G. along the walls of large rooms.
If an area is merely a large room with no turn offs, it may be wise to scan the walls.
The hidden items are there to be infrequently picked up, bonuses if you will.
avidgamer,
I'm not one to tell you whether the game is worth playing to you or not, obviously.
But a once over of the posts demonstrates it isn't easy.
The first three dungeons are the shortest, which is why I allow three of them.

It's not a row of teleporters or they'd all be playing noises and it would be very obvious they were separate.
In fact, it is one enormous teleporter.
You reached the savepoint though, you just have to keep going past the savepoint, ignoring the teleporter.

Hello everyone.

PKMNmaster: I just want to say that this game is great; and I haven't even played much yet.
I've made a recording of some battles, just to show those who are asking how they work. I didn't show any spoilers or anything relating to the story in the recording. If you're interested, here it is:

Also, I personally like the way the timing works for the scrolls and I hope it doesn't change.

Thanks again for a great game

If a helicopter falls in the field and no one's around, it doesn't make a sound.

It's just cosmethic, but it would be realistic, maybe in Addition with mini games in the Casino for example, if you would be able to eat or drink something in the bars or Restaurants. Just an idea what could be added.
