Hi guys! I'm also impressed with the work that @theonlypknmaster put in the game! I've played it yesterday for 5 minutes and said.. well, that's my
kind of game, that's what we need more in terms of rpg's, I'm so tired of simple audio games. After these 5 minutes playing I decided to go and buy
it. I'm probably still far from beating the demo content, I've managed to save a girl and now she's part of my team. I really don't think you should
change the behaviour of casting magic, I've struggled for some time until I got the hang of casting. but now I'm getting better and it became
actualy easy! Guys, just calm down and keep trying, you'll eventualy get the hang of it, I think we got so used to easy audio games that when we see
this challenge it looks too hard. Keep playing!! I agree though that it would be awesome to be able to use screen reader output instead of sapi and
in some cases the audio could be edited because it crackles when there's some speech, maybe it's because of the pop filter that some people have
mentioned. The rest is awesome. we just have to memorize the locations although they are really big. I'll keep supporting you in all your future
projects and will report if I find bugs.

@aaron
The teleporter is east out of the lounge, then south to the southwestern corner of the floor.

@BND if the exploration bit was directed at my post earlier, I'm not saying I dislike exploration lol just in some of the larger rooms the object detection distance does not scale at all, its like trying to find a single object in I don't know, a theater or something big_smile
but either way I may actually end up paying for this eventually, just finished the demo but lacking funds and a paypal account haha

Allowing longer time for DragonStrikes is a difficult problem. If he gives us only additional 50 miliseconds, we will be able to cast perfect strikes without having to memorize them. Currently, the game needs memorization to be able to cast a spell, and it's one of the fun points in this game.
If I think about that, it sounds OK, but there is another problem.

There is actually a boss that we can't use any memorizations to defeat. Though I've defeated the boss by upgrading my HP and level, some people may not be able to do that because of the speed of keyboard input, or input latency of the their machine.

@Ukio, the latency you experienced was actually caused by install_keyhook, a feature offered by BGT which allows input to reach the game instead of being intercepted by Jaws. Philip confirmed that due to a recent windows update, this feature could cause latency on some systems. For this reason the feature had to be disabled and so Jaws has to be put to sleep or turned off to play. I agree, even increasing dragonstrike time by a small amount would defeat the purpose of it.
PS: You can learn dragon strike scrolls without actually casting them in a battle. Press X to open your menu and select dragon strike scrolls. There you can listen to a character's entire scroll. Try to memorize it in the way you might memorize the beat of a song, for instance.

Hi,
I worked out that it was in fact using the alt key it didn't like. I fixed it, and must say I am enjoying the game very much!

I just can't work out the bit where you're meant to find kelly. I found the hidden place, but now what?

Thumbs up

kyle12, the secret place, which I presume is what you ment, is a maze dungeon thing. You have just got to find your way through it.

I've ran into something weird. When your exploring a battle dungeon area, save points do not work as I originally thought.

space
and
stuff

In the hades area, when I restore a game I end up at the starting location. When I use the save point and inevitably die to the death god I'm automatically restored to the beginning of the area, but all my stats save. I'm not entirely sure if this is a bug or not.

I am enjoying the game though so far.

<edit>Now it only restores me to the beginning of the area upon death. If I exit then reload the game, I am restored to the save point.</edit>

stewie, this is the expected behavior.
The game will send you most often back to your cabin when you die, but since it can't do that in the dream, you are sent to the beginning of the area.

Yeah, screen reader support would be nice... especially I've seen other games written in bgt offer the support. And although I agree with everyone who says extra time would make it too easy I think 30-50 ms wouldn't exactly be a bad idea. Even mainstream jrpg games with qte sequences give you at least a quarter of a second to press the button. I haven't tried it yet so don't know exactly how hard it is... but I will some time today. Also hoping sounds for combat and things will be added soon!

How do you play air hockey in the games centre? I can move around the table but can't hit the puck with any key press I can think of.

Hi,
When I get my 30 bucks (hopefully soon), you'll definitly have it. Its so nice that I actually want to see this continued. I've never seen such a nice text rpg in english. smile

stewie, when you talk to the table, there is an option called more info. This tells you how to play.
Press escape to end the current game.

I'm starting to get the hang of dragonstrikes but man is it heavy on the timing. I don't think an extra 20/30 ms will kill it.  But I've said what I think in my previous post.  All you need now is a mixer and a mic and a pop shield.  I've beaten the demo and am going to throw $30 at ya and hope that you continue to work on the series and update this game with the suggestions that we have given you with regards to what you can do in BGT.

Thumbs up

Ok I've just completed the demo. I have a few questions plot wise.

the following paragraphs will contain spoilers.

Why do you have to pass through the residential areas before reaching the recreational areas? You would think that there would be some kind of main staircase or elevator to reach any floor rapidly.

On the ship before the dreams, the casino was populated by murderers, and there was a teleport pad to a secret area. Why exactly? I doubt that ship security would allow mass murderers to populate it. Also what actually was the secret area? Surely other guests at the casino would notice a teleport pad just sitting there.

Later on with the dreams, why are they so vivid? I don't think I've had a dream of that clarity. It could be a plot point regarding halfling physiology, or some kind of magic being used though. In the dreams though you retain the items you had in the waking world. The problem is that if you use an item in one dream, such as the healing potion, you have automatically used the potion in the second dream due to items being shared amongst all party members.

sounds like it's more like a square enix game in audio. I'm really impressed. the music sounds like it was dun by nobuo fucking uamattsu!

Hi.
Is there NVDA support?
My sapi five is messexd up and Iam unable to fix it. this game sounds good but i can't play it without nvda support.
I broke stupid sapi five and it doesn't matter if i use repere utility on it, that doesn't make a difference.

Thumbs up

As of now saddly there is only sapi 5 and maybe 4 support. I can't remember if bgt supports sapi 4.

You could try reinstalling SAPI 5.

Thumbs up

Hi.

I'm confused.
When I start the game, I don't see anything to do. I can move around the grid with the arrow keys and hit walls but that's about it.
What do I do?

Thumbs up

Read the manual. When your close to a wall it will play a tone indicating the direction. When that tone stops playing, you can move in that direction unimpeeded. The tone increases in volume relative to your distance from the wall.

though seriously this game is good, better than any english game I have thus far played and that is a lot considering I was playing when treasure hunt came out for windows! when I get the funds $30 USD is coming your way!

I've finished the demo and will be buying it as well once it fits in the budget. Great job, and I can hardly wait to see what the full game has to offer.
Speeder, There's a person to talk to on Wing 2 that will give you a quest which will advance the game.

Hi. How do i reinstall sapi 5? I'd need to delete it from my system then put it back. But how do I do that? I need all the dll's and stuff. And how do I beat the human, all I keep doing is pressing enter but nothing seems to happen? Methinks I won't be able to play this game without sapi lol. That's sad cause it sounds awesome.
