No, I'm not just spouting promotional slogans, (especially as with the Cyber elves demotional   stratogy is the only thing that works).   Officially audiogames.net is! actually number one. number one on this years 7-128 top 25 websites list for gamers who are blind.

To see the full list and get an idea not only where your favourite developers and resources might have placed but also get a great overview of many websites see Yonder linkage

And for 7-128's other anual top 25 lists which  include sites for industry professionals and for gamers with various disabilities go this way

So enjoy the lists, and if you hear some loud gunshots, that is just the sound of me execu ----- mmmm, promoting some cyber elves who  showed special initiative by not working quickly enough.

I just read through the rankings. They seem very accurate, at least from my off-and-on gaming experience. In addition, I am pleased that Apple Vis is on the list. I just got my Mac after Christmas, and have found that website to be an excellent resource for learning the Mac as well as Apple's other products. I think one thing this list demonstrates for sure is that I need to get back into gaming, and stay there this time. I tried to download a game for the Mac platform not too long ago and it totally didn't work. I believe this was UA Invaders or something similar, and their site hasn't been updated since about 2007. That's the other thing that impresses me about these rankings: the outdated stuff has been removed. Or at least it seems most of it has been removed. Way to go AG!

Hi.
wow, congratulations to audiogames.net! big_smile
This would never had happened, if the moderators wasn't very active when it comes to keep the database up to date.
Personally, I find the forum to be the very best feature on this website. I simply can't live without it! smile If I've been away from the forum for just one weekend, I can't wait to check all the new posts when I come back.
Keep up the amazing work guys. Being number one means a lot! big_smile

Best regards SLJ.
Feel free to contact me privately if you have something in mind. If you do so, then please send me a mail instead of using the private message on the forum, since I don't check those very often.

Sorry to bring this topic back, but congradulation audiogames.net!

2014-07-11 21:07:48

Well Socheat, as you'll see if you look at the forum directly, the Ag news room doesn't bump topics with new replies to the top of the list sinse then they'd obviously be bumped back up to the top of the front page as well, which wouldn't be good, so feel free to reply to what you wish.

Thanks for the congrats, I admit I was quite pleased about this one myself.

Hi Dark,
I welcome the passing of the number one baton to the Audio Games Forum.
I am amazed how easy it is to post a new topic and to comment on an existing one.
On my site I have to load the page into a word processer, write or copy the text of a new game, convert it to html then save the result.
Then I have to open a ftp program and upload the changed page to my web site.
All this takes ten times the work and time as posting to the forum.
My hat is off to AGF!

Thanks Dark for your information in the above posts. I mean post 9. big_smile

@Phil, well Richard and Sander are the ones who came up with the news system, intigrating the Punbb with the php of the site, it is indeed useful, though I don't pretend to know how it works, I just work here big_smile.

Editing The database itself is a little trickier and does require html editing in the descriptions, but again it is a relatively easy process once you get the knack and the html that is needed is just basic text formatting nothing too fancy. I don't know exactly how 7-128 worked out the criteria they use for the site rankings. though I will say I do find your list useful sinse it provides a very handy instant overvew, indeed I freely admit to plundering it for db entries big_smile.

@Socheat, I thought it was relatively clear how the news worked and that your welcome to post replies to news topics without upsetting matters, but if you think this is something that needs explanation let me know and I can always add another question to the site faq.

Thank you Dark.

It's friction free. smile

The forum software stores its data in a database, and provides the form for you to put data into that database. It's not really a substitute for a web host, although I do blog here quite frequently. big_smile

Just myself, as usual.
