Sopme people mightremember the web game alien adoptin agency. well,it's  for a couple of years, well know it's back, though with a new developer at the helm.

Of all the pvp heavy games, I think a3 was one of the best, mostly because of the diverse range of activities from herb collecting, to farming, fishing, having miniture wars with robotic troops and of course flying spaceships.  The pvp is also of a very mild kind too, indeed to go no pvp is a free option, and losing all your hp won't hurt at all with anything else in the game.

Since the game is being rebuilt, this is also a good time to reaise any access point and try some stuff out.

Nope, I'm afraid accounts haven't been wiped, albeit the experience etc is recet and the game is not accepting payment.

As to activities mike, it's a little difficult to say for now as I never tried many originally, and there are some that aren't up yet, though the developer has said that he'd like to improve access as some of the old activities could be a little funky with their images, ---- at least fishing was, though as far as I've been able to find only farming cattle and herb picking are up thus far.

Regarding the pvp, it's really not so bad, since all you need to do is grab a blue herb to get restored, albeit I will confess I'm getting a little tired of one button fighting.

Well combat is really just a case of training at the gym, then equipping the weapons for your level and going at it, there's not much stratogy.

if you keep losing it's likely because your fighting people higher level than you, because by default the game doesn't match with people your level.

Use the "trace" option to search for people to battle of your level or there abouts, though to be honest for me at least battle was only really a sideline in the game and I confess I never played that seriously, mostly because of the whacky immages on stuff like herb picking that never seemed to work as advertised, ---- though with the blind compatibility mode on they seem to work okay now.

hi

@dark

what i discovered was private eye. i asked him when i thought another alien was worth fighting. private eye is a sort of bandit who can give you background information about another alien. like his/her stats so you can find out of you've a advantage above your opponent.

yesterday evening i won 4 fights since i discovered private eye.

i also don't like pvp very much. but i haven't found any sign that fishing is already online. all what i find is a small description at the bottom of my screen. nothing of that points to the fishing activitie.
about the blind mode ... i knew there was one due to the description you wrote in the db. but i can't find the checkbox in the preferences page. it also could be that i haven't checked to carefully and rushed over it with my screenreader.

If i remember rightly mike, private eye is a bit expensive to just use all the time, to be honest I'd personally advise just using the basic trase and fighting people same level as you.

Those descriptions for the docks aren't actually the activities, theye're just info that appears on the basic map (actually mouse over information), if fishing were active you could click on the docks just like you can on the gardens and be taken to a screen where you could go out into the lake and catch fish, ditto with mining in the pit and various other parts of the game.

Unfortunately, blind compatibility mode is part of the account settings that hasn't been resotred yet. Mine seems to still be active since I activated it on my account back before the game went offline and those preferences have been retrieved, but the box to turn it on for new accounts doesn't seem to have been enabled yet. I suggest you ask about this on the forum, since I have noticed the developer is restoring account functionality, but if you point out that without this the game isn't particularly easy for blind players (try picking herbs and you'll see the problem), he'll likely restore it.
If I remember rightly it used to be in the game settings.

hi

@dark

i also looked into the game settings and there isn't a single setting available yet. in the account settings there are checkboxes. i found when i checked the change password box the tap opened up for me.

but i'll write the new developer a ingame message were i'll point out that blind mode should come back if he wasn't planning on yet, that the game will be near unplayable etc.

i am getting experience with writing messages and e-mails to developers haha

:-)

in the Netherlands i also do from time to time.
i'll point him to this forum and probably will paste his reply in my following message if he replied.

hi everyone,

this is mikey reporting back. i haven't a reply yet but i'll paste the message below wich i have send to the ccurrent admin of alienaa:

message
Dear admin of alienaa,

I am Mike Schipper, a.k. pelantas on various games, communities etc.

The reason why i write you this quick post is that either myself and my friends on:

forum.audiogames.net

are interested to play alienaa. I noticed from some people on this community for the blind that before this game went offline had a sort of mode for the blind wich allowed us to take part in various activities wich contained lot of graphics. Myself i can't join to talk about this activities cause i never got very deep in this game till now. But i got a lot of information from my friends.
the reason why i go so deep in this accessibility modde for the blind is that when this will not be implemented a lot of blind people and myself will not be able to take part in various activities.

So i was wondering if you was planning on to rebuild or reïmplement this blind compatibility mode again?

When you want to join us in the discussion going on about this game, please join us on:

forum.audiogames.net

this isn't advertisement but i hope you are willing to join us to talk with us (myself and other blind or visually impaired people who are interested in this game) about his awsome game.
we're very exited that alienaa is online again.

i'll await your reply.

sincerely yours,

Mike Schipper/pelantas
/message

i hope i have done it the right way. when dark or somebody else wants i'll remove this post i'll do it.

hi

sorry for the many posts. but while i am waiting for a reply of the developer i have another question. what is a good way of earning credits? it doesn't have to be huge amounts of credits, just a small amount to start with is good.

i also will report back when i have a answer of the developer.

Well again, in terms of earning credits  that's a function that's not really in the game yet, since you can earn them from the wellfare office when your a starting player but it doesn't seem to be up, or you can learn them from doing activities like mining or farming and selling what you produce.

Hey there Mike!

Thanks for the message and invite to the AudioGames Forums.

In regards to accessibility and the game, I try to design each new section of it as I'm rebuilding with screen readers in mind. My aim is to hopefully do away entirely with a checkbox requirement for add accessibility and rather have it all accessible from the get-go.

As you've probably may have noticed already, the game is fairly incomplete at this point as I'm a one man army rebuilding this thing from scratch, so you may not find as many things to trial out at this point.

If you ever do find any accessibility issues or something not functioning with a screenreader as it should, please don't hesitate to let me know. In my previous games I've tried to make screen reader support a huge part of them.

Glad to have you guys playing,

David (aka Kapiten Lud)

Hi David and welcome, (you may recall me as dark empathy).

Like bladestorm I would also be interested to know about other games you may have worked on in the past, particularly with respect to adding them to our database if  they're not in already.

Regarding a3, I do have a question about farming. Though I have extra points in farming skill I didn't seem to be able to collect different cow types, though lables saying "cow type 1, cow type 2" were on screen, however I'm not really certain whether this was a case of lack of skill on my part or not, or whether the cows need radial buttons the way picking herbs does.

Other than that I'll be interested to see where a3 goes, particularly with regards to activities.

hi

@a3dave

nice you found your way toward the forum. and as dark said "welcome."

i indeed noticed that some parts of the game aren't working yet. i personally are interested in the fishing and mining parts. but i have to be patient.

big_smile

@dark

indeed about the cows i also noticed things like cow #1 and 3 like you.
i am eager to know what this means.

again david, welcome to this community.

i know for sure. i am speaking for myself taht i will get back to a3 from time to time just to play and to discover. taken with me that i haven't played it much before it went offline.

sad

keep up the good work thus far.
