Let's see here:

I know the first  is Flash Man, and Rolento's is Heat Man, and select is MM1's the stage select I think, but don't know the rest.

2013-10-24 21:29:12

Okay. Here's the rest.

Ryu: Flash Man (Correct!)
Guile's Theme: Bomb Man
Boss Select: MM3 Stage Select
Boss Battle: MM2 Boss Battle (Drum Pattern)

I've heard tons upon tons of praise for the various Final Fantasy soundtracks, and I'm just not seeing it. I've heard a random selection from the first few games and Seven, and I don't see what's so amazing about them. Perhaps I'm just not hearing the good tracks?

Anyway, I'd appreciate a post with some of the most memorable tracks, there's probably something to this and I'd like to enjoy the music.

2013-10-30 02:11:58

Maybe so, but then again, that's just me. LOL.

Anyways, back to songs, here is a song by the chiptune artist TQ-JAM. It's from the album "NoiseChan and Nugget: Adventures in Chiptunes". It's called "Promise". It's Track 2 out of 11 tracks.

Huh, 8/10, nice and bouncy.Could use more of those as of late. Here's a classic by Dubmood, one of the oldest demosceners in the business still around.

Bit of a fun fact, I have this as my ring tone.

In honor of the holiday, I submit this little gem:

10/10 on both of 'em! Here is another chiptune. It's the Castlevania 2 Bloody Tears song, done in VRC6 style. I actually have the FTM file for this track.

Wow, very nice! 10/10.

Switching gears a bit, a track from the funky Sonic Rush Adventure soundtrack:

2013-11-03 20:00:13

10/10! I remember hearing that track in that game. Here is another one for you. It's Street Fighter IV's M. Bison [Dictator]'s Theme. A nice remix of the original arcade version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWu9jCweD70

Here is the original: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LsIWRHBKeh0
And Here is the CPS2 Version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FI-StDctc2E
Remember those dark moments where Bison would spam his Infinite Scosor Kick of doom? I do. I still have childhood nightmares of that to this day just listening to this theme. I always find myself playing it on piano and guitar when they ask me to play a song.

2013-11-03 23:20:10

Awesome as always. And yes, I died a  lot, so that theme's going to be stuck in your head regardless.
Speaking of hard  bosses with catchy music:

Hi,
I'm a bit late on this one, but I like all of these. The halloween one was cool. I haven't managed to face Bison in street fighter 4 yet, although I did manage to get the pc version, super Street Fighter iv arcade edition rather cheap on steam.

Now, it's time to set sale a bit for ancient times.
first off, here's a slow one:

on a lighter note, here's an upbeat one:

Ah, wonderful. 10/10.

Not an authentic tune, but a great band that invokes the feeling regardless:

10/10! Nice! I agree, great band.

Here is another gaming track. It's from the Chiptuned Rockman album, again. I'm not sur I posted that one in one of the topics, but here you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFOrh6A3B2w

Here are more tracks from SF, one of my favorites, anyway:

SF2 Ryu: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQw-a8sApLQ

From another great fighting game, here's the first stage music from Streets of Rage II.

10/10! Here is a song from Final Fight [CPS1]

Remember this stage?

2013-11-06 14:31:21

Hi,
10/10! This was my childhood in the 90's/early 2000's as my local arcade had a Final Fight cab and me and dad used to play co-op, as in, he'd use the stick and I'd attack the enemies, and he'd help me past the areas where you had to sort of move up or down before battling. In hindsight maybe we should have done a two-player co-op battle insead.
Luckily I always knew it was a game, and the reason we played this stuff was because there wasn't really much else to play that I could do easily.
Now to the psx eara.

8/10. Crash was the man back in the day, the series hasn't been the same since Naughty Dog left.

Here's from another Crash game:

9/10. It's great, Yes, I agess.
Here are more FTM remixes I've made.
Cut Man Stage [MM1]: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/q79 … jYkbYsm8bQ
Batman [Game Boy] Stage 1: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/2yz … zlkngfBfFw

Tetris Theme: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/h65 … reU2ccT-EQ

Sonic 1 - Spring Yard Zone: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/8vm … _HGByNGZjg

Some of these songs were recorded from my Famicom, hence why there are more sound channels, as opposed to the NES' default 5.

2013-11-07 00:55:11

That's interesting as there's a user on youtube who's done NES versions of the classic Sonic trilogy, Spinball, and 3d blast, I wondr what you'd make of them.

For instance, Spring Yard  Zone:

10/10. Ah, that's 8BitDannooct1 who did that. I actually have the FTM file for the Sonic 1 soundtrack. I also have one of Sonic 2, Sonic  3, and Sonic and Knuckles, all of which he has made. I plan to do Sega Genesis remixes soon, when I'm done with my NES projects. Here's another song.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kOjXM0sH84
Remember this game? This same song was also featured in the Mega Man 11 Soundtrack Project.

2013-11-07 05:56:45

You mean 8 bit remixes of Genesis tracks, or using VOPM and Genesis instruments?
If so, boy howdy could Megaman use a remix treatment, I was expecting a lot more for the Wiley Wars ost. I mean, it's not terrible, but it's not very good either, average.

2013-11-08 06:37:29

nothing in the post above mine, but here's my first track
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yoz66vSKDd8
from metal gear solid 3, one of the last parts of the game
one of the main reasons I chose this is because in my opinion it really fits with what's actually going on when you're playing the full game, it also blends in very nicely with the other sounds
here's a youtube of the actual game, same part

10/10 for the metal gear solid song, and 10/10 for that playthrough part! It's in binaural audio or something with stuff going on behind you! I haven't really noticed that, but to be honest I haven't reall ywatched any playthroughs as most have commentary and I'm more interested in atmosphere than commentary.

2013-11-09 16:31:32

@aaron, yeah most of them these days are no commentary playthroughs, but those that do have it are still actually kinda funny if they die or something
heads up, I am officially a huge MGS freak so I'll be posting quite a bit of that, but for now Im taking us back to the era of the PS1 with in my opinion one of the most memorable battle themes from that console

8/10? I don't know, I'm still trying to find what is so amazing about Final Fantasy music.

Not technically a video game original, but is from Red Vs Blue which uses the Halo engine for machinima so it's still taking place in a video game.
