Alright I would like to try this agin... I have noticed a lot of people

taking interest in developing games for the blind around here and wonder

what kind of games they would like to develop as I have heard none of that

kind of information, only the same questions being asked over and over again

despite the answers given to you several times before.  Also I have a

suggestion: instead of starting out with something like vb try libertybasic

(www.libertybasic.com)... it's easier and though you might not be able to

make sound based games in it you will probably be more productive in that

than in vb.

Please Respond,
James

Hey James,

assault_freak here. I don't make games, but I wanna.

My idea was a first-person shooter to se who can kill as many people as

possible.

Hi,
I

would like to develop games. I have VB. Would anyone who knows VB want to

write an easy to read VB tutorial that specifically tells how to make a

*audiogame*? And as for what kind of games, games that allow you to play

against people over the internet are the kind I would develop. Thanks

yes.

well if i am going to develope games i first strart with some puzzle games

like memoryy, simon, or something. then i maybe go and do some kind of stuff

like do a multiplayer shooter which has several game modes, needing to do

various different objectives in the game mode such as destroying enemy

starbases, retreve missiles but before you do it you must acomplish several

objectives like opening doors, a deathmatch and team deathmatch mode, and

more. i am only 9, and i have vb. but if i had, and i'm somewhat olde ri

would make some games like that.

i'm not thinking of developing games,
i don't know enough about it,

however i am good with ideas.
If there are any aspiring developers out

there who need ideas, respond to this thread and leave your e-mail address,

i'll try and help you out.

Hi,
I

would like ideas, just post them on this thread if you have any. And

hopefully, I will eventually get around to developing a game...

I am

interested in developing games. I would probably start out with something

simple, and get in to something harder. I would really like to develop some

star wars games, but the only really big chalenge is to get good sound

effects like light sabers, interior ship ambiences, and so on. I know that

this is off topic and I already asked about it, but where is it possible to

get them? I know findsounds.com has some stuff, but the samples are short,

and they don't have some of the light saber humming sounds, or interior

ship ambiences. thanks.

Hi,
Well, I have no idea. One thing you can do is take them out of other

games, use totalrecorder to record them.

have

you tried www.sounddogs.com? they have some good sounds, go to sound

effects, then science fiction, then spaceships, ambience or something and

there ya go. though they are low-quality, and that sucks for games, and if

you try to convert it to 44100 hz it sounds weird too. maybe you'll have to

search in google or something.

What

other games would you be talking about, and don't you have to buy those

sounds?

Ok

we're getting seriously off topic. I have little to no knowledge about

developing games but that's one of the careers I'm interested in. I'd

start out with something simple like converting some of my favorite Atari

2600 games into Audio Games. Ms. Pac-Man Talks, the sequel to Pac-Man Talks,

seems to have been scrapped by PCS Games so maybe that'd be a project for

me to consider. I'd also love to see Audio Frogger one of these days

(anybody remember the theme music?) Of course RPG's are my true passion so

if BPSoft ever comes into existence (that's the hypothetical name for my

company), you'll see a lot of RPG titles, maybe even an RPG maker! I also

would love to see an audio based Metroid style game. In fact I met a guy on

the old forum who wanted to work with me on bringing such a title to life

but we've since lost touch so I'm kinda stuck in limbo. Anyway, there's

my two cents. Oh, and let's not forget the old NES game Zanac! That'd make

a cool audio game.

But wait, what's that? A transport! Saved am I! Hark, over here! Hey nonny non, please help!

i am

only 9, and don't have vb even. though, i know mIrc scripting. as you see

in my signature, i am a beta tester for mp-soft though, which still needs a

fix.

2005-06-11 20:14:56

I was

gonna download that TDLSoft thing and give it a go but it wouldn't let me

even visit the site. Dammit! I got a Forbidden warning deal thingy that said

I didn't have permission. So I guess it'll be a while before I start

making games.

But wait, what's that? A transport! Saved am I! Hark, over here! Hey nonny non, please help!

Hi,

Insidentally I think it was I who expressed interest in creating

such a game, but since I have yet to do anything (still!) myself I don't

know when that will happen.  It's a weird trend that everyone (including

me) wants to suddenly make games.  Some of you had good ideas even and some

sounded like you really didn't know what to do or how even to do it, but

hey...

Hi,
I

am interested in making games, I have VB, but I just haven't got around to

it. And James, what's happening with that little company of yours?
