I recently decided to cave in and purchase an MP3 Player and at the same time, locate a music service/software to download music.  During my search, I discovered Brian Hargen

Assuming you mean WMA, windows media audio, you have a problem. I can only speak for the UK, but I've only seen downloads of WMA files so far but then I haven't looked hard. DRM means digital rights management, the protection system used on the WMA files. You will probably be able to play WMAs, but not protected ones.

I would hope that if there were a work around the rock box software would mention it, although I haven't had any dealings with them. I still use physical CDs and rip them, I really don't like the limited rights on downloads and am paranoid as a techie because I know I'd lose them if I reformatted. You can back the files up, but not the licenses which are I believe stored seperately.
