God no, the videoGame cries are where it's at, I can't stand the show.

Take care, it's a desert out there.

hi

i agree that the old shows are more fun fun an the newer oness. that's my oppinion, the newer shows aren't the old classic pokemon style anymore. with ash, misty and brock. my interest was also the hoenn series, with ash, may, max and brock. that were lso great shows. but after the hoenn shows the shows went lesser interesting. at least ... for me.

i don't care if the voices are acted or the gameboy style voices. i really don't care. what i want is that the game does have voices, not only sapi, sapi for descriptions of battles, maybe also for conversations (to start with as if it lies in your might to get real actors.) but no sapi for pokemon cries. when you take the voices of the gameboy series you take the risk of getting in trouble with nintendo when they track you.

but as i said, i don't care, the only thing i care about, the two things at least are:

1 the safety of our developer (s) i don't want that they get in trouble for their unique concept

2 the second thing i care about is that the game reaches it  final stage.

alright, i gonna wait for my parents again and we speak each r again (if there is any reply) when i am lieing in the morning sun ... just kidding ... when i am sitting in the sun again.

after the old shows they started changing the voices for already existing pokemon so that's why i hate the idea of voices.  Otherwise sounds cool.

2012-08-20 00:41:36

No voices are needed, as long as we know which pokemon we are using, it shouldn't really matter. Sound effects for the different attacks would be nice though. As well as different regions with there respective jims and badges. Of course this takes time, but i'm willing to wait and get a little at a time.

ahoy all.
I haven't actually heard the newer shows pokemon voices, but the old shows pokemon voices were awsome.and coughs,I haven't even heard the video game voices.... as every time I've heard a friend play pokemon blue/yellow/red it was on a emulator and the sounds aren't so good in there. I don't think I've ever heard a pokemon voice there....
I'd just quote arqmeister and be done with it. post 29,that is.
and oh yeah... while I wouldn't mind having no pokemon voices, I loved the pokemon released from a pokeball and pokemon called back.:d. hint hint.
this hasn't even gotten off the ground yet,and I am flying in my imagination.... hope it flys with me someday.

Hello all! Well, I don't know if the sounds used in the anime itself are copyrighted. If not, I have some of them here. I can try to talk with a friend and record covers of the sound track too.

Okay, I've made a voice file with me voice acting out the pokemon voices. Voices from the show. Well, hear you go. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/80120251/pokemon%20voices.mp3
Hope you like this. Also, I like the voices from the show better because the game voices are very low quality. That's all I have to say.

the frozen cold, and the powerful light,
bind together, just as the fire and dark might,
they both tare apart the land, once so pure and grate,
but peace can be restored, we just have to stay firm and wait.

Lol at low quality, you obviously haven't heard the newer games pokemon cries, the quality has really improved..

The problem with the pokemon sounds, (there not voices at all), is that some of them are difficult to tell appart.  This is not a problem for a sighted player sence they can just look at the monster in question and see what kind it is.  For us that can't see the monsters this is not possible.  The voices from the shows at least tell us right away what we are facing (in almost all cases).

I've actually found that especially in the later games, all the pokemon sound different. Of course the only real difficulty I've had with the games is that I can never always tell what level the pokemon is that I just caught.

2012-08-22 22:32:25

I never really played the pokemon games myself, but lots of my friends like them, and they sound interesting. I really wish There was a port of some of the Zelda games, though, like Ocarina of Time, and such.

Why not turn that into an actual programme-based application? Use Flash or something of that sort. It would be something interesting to Pokémon fans.

Well, after a bit of discussion and brainstorming with Aprone, we've decided that it's just not feasible to make a direct copy of the Pokemon games. They use a map and movement style that doesn't translate well to and Audio game, at least in any way we can think to do it. So, a direct clone of the game is out.

This does NOT, however, mean we're giving up. We definitely want to release a game with similar game play, such as capturing and collecting monsters, trading with other players, battling, etc. We're talking about using a Swamp style movement and map system to make the game a reality. Also, since we're not sticking with the Pokemon characters or settings, we're now open to do any kind of creatures we want. Ghosts, robots, goblins... the options are limitless. We just have to make sure we come up with something that will be fun and interesting for you guys! Haha! I don't know that we'll have as many creatures as the Pokemon series but I'm sure we'll be able to make them all unique and balanced, with a bit of hard work.

Hello guys!

I was thinking about the monsters in the "Pokemon" game, and I have a suggestion! This may sound stupid, but why not use birds, fish, insects and animals as the monsters and give them special abilities?

cheers

hi

ooh well, i can imagine that a direct copy of pokemon could be difficult. but if i am speaking for myself ... is that i'd like to see a direct copy but a game with a spin in the same style will be even greater.

and a game with a monster called:

spidor (this is a spider type) wich can evolve into a spidark will be very cool.

as i said dozens of times before, if i can help, you know to find me.

Well, that does sound interesting, but I know little about how the real game is played, so maybe converting the game from what it would really be like in terms of using audio cues might be quite a difficult matter.
If the game was written using a specific mainstream engine, then it would be almost impossible to make it represent the way it would. I do not know if Pokéymon was meant to be played on a video game console or on a computer.

hi

@112

the pokemon games were created to play them on a gameboy color first, then on the advance and followed by versions only playable for the nintendo ds.

i can play them only a bit, but to convert it in audio is indeed near impossible.

I'm not so sure about that.  The game entombed plays mutch like the pokemon games play, and by the way, the first pokemon games appeared on the gam boy, not the game boy color.

hi

today from a location what is called my revalidation ...

@nina

ooh yes i forgot about that indeed. i see the same style indeed entombed and pokemon ... silly mikey.
and i thought at first that the color the first gameboy was. but when i am thinking and painalising my brain it is the simple case that you're right.

but indeed i should rethink my words about impossible, infact ... it is very possible. but i hope that you agree that the pokemonworld is very huge. greater than the entombed world.

I can't wait to know how awsome it should be!

2012-08-31 15:32:29

Sorry guys, work has picked up for me and I've, unfortunately, been far to busy to even think about coding anything. This is still on the agenda, as both Aprone and I really like the idea, but it may take a bit longer to get a demo out.

2012-08-31 18:28:09

pelantas you are right that the pokemon world is very large, just in the first generation there are 26 routes, and at least 10 towns.  This added to the dungeons (like the forest, victory road, and the power plant) and the buildings in each town, and each of these is represented by it's own map, I think you can say the world is quite large.  Hatred I don't know about anyone else, but I for one am willing to wait with baded breath to see the first demo, and I think this will give us a better game.
