the teleporter is the alter in the centre of the room.
after you
have caught all the monkeys and the one that is tied or stuck to the alter
you just hit space bar and your off to the wild wild west

just have to collect eight stones or it won't work. And you have to do this
before catching the last monkey. I know because I'f tried it the other way,
where I caught all the monkeys and then collected the stones. It didn't
work, so you have to reveal the teleporter before catching the last monkey
and avoid the ghosts it summons.

i don't know about that, i've played the level over and
over and never experienced any ghosts.
and i also caught all the monkeys
bar one heard a funny sound and was completely able to teleport out of
there

You can't catch the last monkey. It won't let you. You gotta get
the stones first. Oh, if you are on easy, all you gotta do is get the monkey
and go. No rocks needed.
