well, I had to switch to ms outlook from outlook express because I want to sync my pac mate's calendar and inbox, but I found that jaws is more useful in outlook anyway like when you're viewing in conversations view (IE threads on the forum) jaws speaks things like "conversation, x messages, x unread" butI'm not exactly able to use it. ok, I got my account set up and although I tripple checked the pass is right each time a send/receive occurs I'm prompted for it... and each time the field is blank, so I have to reenter it. any help appreciated.

Have you found a check box to remember your password? It might be after the ok button. There should be one somewhere, either on that dialogue box or in the account settings.

the remember password checkbox in the account setup is checked, ditto with the password prompt, but that one gets unchecked. IE, I get the please enter your password prompt durring a send/receive, I do the entering and check the "save this password in your password list' checkbox and activate ok, and then the next time the prompt appears, the password field is blank, and the "save this password in your list" box is unchecked.

Very weird.

That said I had heard of a utility that let you sync via outlook express, maybe check pacmategear.com and see if there is anything about that there.

At work with Outlook I often use a lot of tools. But some days ago I had a big unpleasant problem and fortunately found in one forum-how to recover contact from a corrupted pst file. Moreover utility showed how it can work with all supported versions of Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft Outlook email client for restore contacts .pst file.

Have to ask, are you human? I'm suspicious this might be advertising.

I get the same feeling cx2... his message is way Off-Topic.

It's a litle difficult to say sinse looking at the url he/she posted, it does seem to link to some sort of toolbox for recovering pst files, ---- and certainly the spambots I've reviewed before have had most dodgy sounding urls in their posts which had nothing to do with the link text.

What that has to do with the password issue I don't know.

Btw pitermach, I'm currently having an incredibly similar problem in ie 8.

It absolutely refuses to retain logue in cookies set by websites after i shut my computer down.

I initially thought this was to do with the cookie settings on the privacy property sheet, but though I've set it to accept all cookies (I can manually delete them later), and not to use any of the default security measures for dealing with cookies, ---- this doesn't seem to help, and all cookies seem to vanish when I shut my pc down, ---- though they remain while it's stil on.

I've been through the Ie security settings, ---- and couldn't find anything which looked related, I've also checked, and it's not automatically deleting the temporary net files (or at least it shouldn't be).

If anyone has any suggestions on this as well, ---- I'd appreciate that a lot, sinse with all the forums, online games and other things I need to logue in to it's quite a pest.

Apologies for the off topic, but spambots are getting worse.

I recently saw a post on a fairly new entry to the tabletop wargames market Spartan Games' forum. It was asking if they would be setting up a demo team, but in a very broken way. There was however a casino link I think it was, and it also used as an example "commandos" which it claimed were used by Games Workshop. I happen to know that the commandos are the demo volunteers for Catalyst which is very much the other end of the size spectrum to GW.

The relevance of spambot text is on the up and up. Also I'm sure there are plenty of topics floating around asking for help with various parts of Microsoft office, including Outlook.
