I don't know if that would even work. It's possible.

Where can I get this unblocking add-on? If I can get it, I can then test it on Dectalk Access32 add-on to begin with.

the NVDA add-on is a modified version of the dectalk 4.60 software driver without the python replace expressions that break these so called singing commands. What they should really be called are embedded commands, or voice commands, or something similar. The singing is just a small subset of what the DECtalk was designed to let app developers do with it. As for express, maybe you could NVDA to handle it, but you would have to pass all the symbols it wats through the symbols dict to always send, and you would have to get the regular express add-on and see if it has blocks for these things. I wouldn't use NVDA to make it sing though, since it resets on line breaks or other such boundaries.

Ok, thanks. That's good to know.

Well, I'm connected to the Dectalk Archive BTSync folder, and in the Hardware folder, there's a file called dtxv42cd.exe, and I gess it means Dectalk Express version 4.2 CD.
So, is this the file, which has the command line program that I can use to get Dectalk Express, and is it that file, I can use to downgrade the Dectalk Express to version 4.2, if I accidently buy a Dectalk Express with version 4.6.1?

Hi.
@akse0435 I don't know if that will even work on modern Windows, as that CD was designed to run under DOS and/or Win9x. It probably could, but don't quote me on that.

Hi,

Do anyone know, how I can use the singing Dectalk nvda-addon to unblock the commands, so I can make Dectalk sing through nvda.
I know I'll have to copy the symbolsen.dic file somewhere, but I don't know where to copy it, and when I search through my harddrive, there's not another file already there called symbolsen.dic, so where would I need to copy it?

The reason why I want to unblock those commands is, that I've now got a Dectalk Express, and I figured out, that the software in the dtxv42cd.exe file would requiere a dos-system and some command knowlige, and I don't know anything about that, so I want to try to unblock the commands in nvda, and then get the Dectalk Express to sing through nvda.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards:

That addon is not for the DECtalk Express. Assuming it isn't blocked in the DECtalk Express addon, copy symbols-en.dic to %appdata%\nvda.

hello
how to get dectalk from nvda, and cercum reality mnlp x86?
thanks

mahdi-abedi:
You can get Circum MNLP x86 here, and DECtalk for NVDA here.

Slender: I found out that the addon partialy Works with DTExpress. It can fine change the voice with one of the voice commands, but when I try to enter some singing commands, it just reads it, or is it maybe a bug in NVDA or the symbols-en.dic.

Try turning off speech dictionary processing.

Hi,

Do anyone know, if there's a way to get the old Vocalizer voices for SAPI? Not Vocalizer Expressive, but the old Vocalizer, that includes the Danish voice Ida.

Thanks in advance.
