Exactly what I've been trying to say on Twitter. Emails were sent out at random. It's a closed beta. Asking them directly is not going to get you a code at all. Most likely it would piss them off. Especially after they clearly said it's a closed beta and not everyone will get in. .

As far as accessibility, sadly Assault is right. Since my contact left, things have changed. I'm trying to establish a new contact. That's why I'm also trying hard to go to Evo this year. Emails and Twitter messages won't cut it. When they see you playing their games right there in person makes them realize it should be considered.

Back on topic, Boon is giving codes right now on Twitter for Xbox1. Don't know if he is doing it like last time, where you has to answer a tribia question.

Oh, I'm also hoping to go to ComboBreaker since it's in Chicago home of NRS. Plus, they will be running MKX and Injustice2 unlike Evo.

Hoping the best for you at this year's evo buddy! I wish I could take a more active role in advocating for accessibility. The oportunities just haven
t come up yet.

@76
I understand what you're getting at.  One of the other reasons I'm frustrated with this whole fiasco is that the codes don't work outside the US and would probably only work with a region switch (which is a big deal when you consider that you have to copy/paste the text in to a message to yourself somehow, then redeem it from there, but even then they have usually already been taken by this time).  Moreover, whenever they give codes away, I seem to be away from twitter, due to the fact that I'm not in the US.

I think it's even more annoying given that I know of very few EU players who actually have received the game, and the only two I'm directly aware of are Ketchup and Mustard, both top players for NRS games.

It's a shame that NRS accessibility standards have slipped and that the only way they seem to listen is if you can spend extortionate amounts of money to travel to a tournament/venue where their games are being played and even then you aren't guaranteed to have the changes introduced that would be useful.

I wish you the best of luck with your efforts though and I hope that NRS learn from the mistakes made with this beta campaign.  If I'd have known from day 1 that this wouldn't allow everyone to get in, for example, I'd have probably not registered and saved myself the bother of trying to find a working code at least 12 hours after they've all likely been taken.

You referred to asking them nicely for codes?  That's not entirely what happened.  If memory serves, they said soemthing along the lines of tell us why you want a code and we'll randomly pick a winner.

Regardless though, I'll probably just end up waiting for the game to come out and seeing it from there.

Well, in terms of accessibility standards slipping, I was never aware of a point when it came to a high... lol. The only way it ever worked was Death Rattlehead's appearance at Evo and his meeting NRS and establishing a contact there. So as far as I know, accessibility has never been anything more than an after thought... which is unfortunate, but not really all that surprising. As to the beta, the fact that it's random doesn't surprise me either... there's no possible way they would've given codes to everyone who registered. That isn't logical from their standpoint, as in that case they might as well simply roll out the beta as a public demo or a preorder bonus like they did with Street Fighter V.

Update on Injustice Beta. So finally, I got to play the beta against someone who knows me from my youtube videos and Evo.

Anyway, we labbed a few things, but here's the important thing. Apparently to turn tournament mode, you do the following:

First, you press 1 (X for Xbone and Square for PS4)
A window pops up to select tournament mode among other things that we kept trying to figure out, but the timer ran out..
Second, after pressing the above mentioned button, you press your left trigger and that toggles tournhament mode on.
This is all after you select your character of course. If you don't press 1 after selecting character, you choose the stage and the match has gear on by default. Both players have to do this to turn tournament mode on.

Note: This process will probably change, as a lot of us who want tournament mode on find this process inconvenient. NRS is aware. Just figured I'd keep you guys updated.

I hope it does change, as more often than not I'll probabl keep my tournament mode on while playing online due to not knowing what kind of gear I'll be coming up against.

Yeah... There is no information anywhere that I2 will be coming out on Steam, definitely not for launch date. Whether or not they might release a PC version further down the road remains to be seen, but as of now, I2 is just for PS4 and Xbox One.

Oh my gosh my bad! I think I was confusing Injustice 2 with Tekken 7! Very sorry about this folks.

2017-02-25 13:23:56

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm feeling rather indifferent about this game currently .  Nothing is grabbing me at all ,  and on a minor note, the punching sound is already sounding annoying .

2017-05-10 01:33:49

Hello! So, since the release of this game is ONLY a week away, thank the gods, and I have managed to preorder the game, I would like to ask if anyone knows more than I do on the gear system. So far I know you can have a set number of loadouts for the gear sets, but I have not heard much else. Anything anyone knows?

Heroes need foes to test them. Not all teachers can afford to be kind, and some lessons must be harsh.

Just to give an update, the official Youtube channel for the game released this "everything you need to know" video, which highlights some of the potential for score and story elements.

As for the gear system, you get bonuses for completing sets, you can unlock pieces through the multiverse mode and level characters up via the AI battle simulator.

I'm looking forward to seeing just ohw well this game lives up to the hype, including in terms of accessibility.

@92
Punching sounds, plural.  I really don't think they're that bad.  Reminds me of shows like Legends of Tomorrow which is pretty much what it should be imho.

if none of you all know this, if you pre ordered the game from game stop, they will be having a midnight release for the game on monday

can i get a peace double harmony burger? no chaos

2017-05-10 10:00:26

I hope I don't sound negative by saying this, but the reason I haven't pre-ordered already, is because half the game looks pretty much inaccessible  at the moment .  Really hope I am wrong though .  Feels a bit strange me saying this, as I'm about to order the new resident evil . smile

@96 if you want my honest opinion, it feels very much hypocritical.  Multiverse will be doable, if frustrating, Gear can be disabled (though not sure if both players will still have to agree).

At least the story mode etc should be accessible.  The new RE on the other hand is designed as a survival, inventory management, 3d interaction game.  I've watched a fair few playthroughs to know that I2 will be on the whole more accessible, even at launch.  At least with this one as well, post launch patches could likely rectify most of the issues faced as a player without sight.  Regardless, enjoy whatever game you choose to get.

Sightless Kombat.

Yeah I've looked at a couple of the character reveals, but honestly only maybe 2 or 3. I've preordered the game so I'll try help out where I can with accessibility. I didn't really play Injustice I, so I can't comment on the sounds though. 1 more week though big_smile

2017-05-10 13:13:25

Gear continues to be a huge source of anxiety for me. I'm sure I'll figure out ways around it, because it is, first and foremost, a fighting game. I have a feeling this gear system will not last. It does make the game highly unbalanced if one of your characters is lower level than others.

Heroes need foes to test them. Not all teachers can afford to be kind, and some lessons must be harsh.

2017-05-10 13:53:26

Oh I'm gonna get both,  just going to wait on injustice 2 to see what the overall opinions are.
A big part of the reason for the new resident evil is because I want to try something that isn't a fighter. smile
