Hello

gamers!

We are pleased to announce that, at last, AudioQuake is ready for

beta
testing.  Please visit the downloads page at www.agrip.org.uk for

all
the information you'll need to test and give valuable

feedback.

This release represents a year of very hard work and supports

single and
multiplayer game modes, online stats tracking (though for now

you'll
have to ensure you think up a unique name - read the release notes

on
our site for more info) and some new high-resolution sounds courtesy

of
the mindgrid:audio Quake project.  We think you'll really enjoy all

of
these features plus the updated manual (which you can help shape)

and
many bug fixes and gameplay improvements we've made.

Please read

all the documentation and sign up to the mailing list so you
can let us

know what you think so that we can all discuss the gameplay
issues that

will undoubtedly arrive when we're able to test big
multiplayer games --

the goal of all of this is to make 0.3.0 as
polished as it can possibly be

for the community when it's officially
released.

Thanks for your time

and we look forward to sending a few rockets your
way in a deathmatch

soon!

best regards,

Matthew and Sebby

Hi,

Matthew, you might know me. I'm Clement, and we've been in

touch for a few weeks. Glad to hear it's finally out, and if I want, could

I ask you for a few tips? For example, this isn't a question, it's a

suggestion. In future releases, could you see if you can make work with a

screen reader like jfw? Cause the sapi is getting annoying, and I want it to

read in somethin like ellequence. So, thanks for the game, and hope to see

you online soon. And please tell me how to know it's you.

regards

Hi again,

I'd also like to know what the user name and password

is for during the download of the the sounds?

Thanks

Thanks

for the suggestions so far!

Regarding the question from assault_freak

about the sounds -- I don't quite understand the question.  There should be

no username/password required when downloading the sounds -- the FTP server

is anonymous so it shouldn't bring up any request for username/password and

it doesn't on the systems I've tested it on.  If, however, you do get such

a request, the username "anonymous" and a password of your e-mail address

should work.  Please let us know via e-mail at [email protected] if this

doesn't work for you.

We'll take on board the suggestion about screen

reader integration.  It's more Sebby's area so I'll pass it on to him and

we'll see what we can do.  I don't think this feature will make it to

0.3.0 but it might later on if we are able to access the development

resources we need.  Sebby tried to write some code that integrates with

Dolphin SAM and I think that could be a start, but unfortunately there were

some documentation issues and we had to switch to SAPI.

The best way to

contact us is via our mailing list -- links to information on signing up to

this can be found on the DownloadPage on our Wiki.

bye just now,

Hi,

Wow, the way you put it, sounds like you haven't got a lot of

suggestions lately.

LOL.

Well at the time we haven't, but people have been great in signing up to

the mailing list to let us know what they think.  It seems that those with

Window-Eyes and HAL are having no problems with crashes and can play the

game OK.  Those who use JAWS are not able to get this far - yet.  We're

working on a new version of the main program EXE and will post it soon on

our site.  This will eitehr woerk or, if it doesn't, allow people to send

in detailed error reports that will really help us home in on the

problem.

Quite a few people have been sending in Dr. Watson reports,

which have allowed Sebby to determine part of the cause of the problem and

we really appreciate this.
