Hello. I wonder where the sounds for windows are stored? I mean the startup sounds, the shutdown sounds, the error sounds etc. Are they stored somewhere as wav files or something somewhere on your hard drive? If so, how can i access them to copy or change them?

They're usually in c:\windows\media.

I once tried to make a sound effect for a game by modifying the windows ding sound. I accidentally saved those changes to the original file, though. So now that computer always dings with the modified version.
