Hi,
I'm asking for someone.
Their new to audiogames and they were wondering What games to start with. I helped him download Super Egg Hunt today. I figured to start with that since it just uses arrow keys. Does anyone have  any recommendations?

You can have him try Treasure Hunt, especially with the MGS mod. It's also a fairly simple game with no turning involved.

not a bad idea. not sure if he likes shooting games. He did say he likes puzzle games. I might help him get slide

I had a similar situation recently with my lady.
Ironically, one of the first recommendations I'd make is crazy party, ---- no don't all throw rotten eggs yet, let me explain!

The game has a bright and interesting soundscape, you don't need to learn a lot of complex keyboard commands or spacial directions or a learn game sounds menu, but can jump straight in and start playing.
What's more, the minigames serve as little tasters for a good many basic audio game playing concepts without being overwhelming. There are side scrollers like protect the duck, top down games, even puzzles and reaction tests, yet while some are harder than others, all are essentially smaller games that a person can pick up and play.

After all, which is better, getting frustrated with a complex side scroller like the gate which only has one experience, or trying out crazy party which has many experiences and lets you decide if side scrollers are or are not your thing.

Then of course, there is the turn based battle aspect, indeed after a bit of crazy party you'd be about ready to jump straight into something like manamon if you wished.

I would also recommend the esp pinball titles from draconis for an ironically similar reason, easy to pick up and play, not too heavy on the instructions and sounding great.

If your friend wants to get into some more complex first person affairs, likely gma tank commander would be worth a look, since you can always have fun with the exploding.

Yeah super egg hunt is already a great first choice!
I would second Dark for CP, at least the first few worlds...
Since they enjoy puzzles, try block party, Jungle, and Pontes sound puzzle, along with many of Aprones lesser known games at kaldobsky.com. I'm sure you can find more under the proper category in the ag.net database listing too.
If they also like board games, maybe they could try RS Games monopoly and the great cheese robbery.
For simpler strategy games we have tactical battles and Sound RTS with and without crazy mod. Both have multiple maps of various size and complexity.

I'll ask and see which ones he likes. I gave him some IOS games to try and he likes timecrest. Not sure about lords and knights.

Ios wise, I'm less a fan of lords and knights myself not being into the hole pvp thing, but if he's into puzzles knight commander or some of the huboodle games might be good, and ofcourse there is always lost cities.
If he likes the hole interactive story thing the cog/hg games, delight games and three minute games might be worth a try as well.
king of dragon pass   and six ages are all sorts of awesome, but probably something of a baptism by fire for a newbie though Kodp was literally one of the first Ios games I tried myself after lost cities big_smile.

There is also super tile smash, the newly released mine sweeper deluxe  and blindfold colour crush if he's into the more spacial puzzles as well as some sudocu varients too, though as I have to investigate a lot of the blindfold games myself for the db I'm not %100 sure of all there are in that line.

I don't find the blindfold ones fun. When I played the blindfold racer game I expected a actual car not music.

Have him try the Audio Game Hub stuff. it has a nice maze game, the archery/hunting isn't bad and he may like the factory game though it takes a bit of getting used to.
Don't forget dice world, everybody loves dice world LOL

ah, forgot about audiogame hub there, the mazes are fun.
With the blindfold games, blindfold racer is more an arcade challenge game than a racing game, which is why it's not in the racing games category on the db.
They have a few arcade titles like hopper and I do rather enjoy their breakout game at times, but I was thinking if your friend is into puzzle games some of their sudocu or colour crush games, the spacial logic ones  be good.

Of course there is a lot of there stuff I haven't tried yet myself and need to for the db, though next up there are the games from woodside aps like Knight commander and mine sweeper
Btw, while we're talking puzzle games knight commander isn't difficult navigation wise, indeed imho its easier than Crafting kingdom and definitely easier than a dark room or nanno empire, but is interesting to pick up and play since it gives a lot of challenge, especially now it has disasters and such.

You should encourage your friend to join the audiogames forum. Also suggest to him to look around on audiogames.net

Crazy Party does make a lot of sense as a recommendation. While some of the worlds and games are quite difficult, it doesn't throw you in the deep end right away. In fact, the first few worlds are pretty easy. There are a few challenging games sprinkled in here and there, bouncing ground, I'm looking at you, but for the most part, a beginner would definitely be hooked. Even the card battles are pretty easy, at least if you play offline. I never got into Pokemon or anything like that, and really didn't think I'd enjoy it, but I was able to figure out how it all worked fairly quickly.

the world that's not fun is the volcano one. the city isn't bad.

Yeah, the volcano sucks, but the intellectual is the worst. The city can be frustrating until you get the hang of it. There are some pretty challenging games in there.
