Hello,
I couldn't get the october update for nearly two months now and I am wondering if it has been taken down or what. Has any of you been able to get this update?
I am asking because I use narrator nearly all of the time on my windows 10 pc and in this update microsoft reports important emprovements for narrator like the new and more familiar keyboard layout/
Thanks

The update was delayed for a little while, but it's here. Check here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/softwar … ndows10ISO

I think it will prommpt you to download the media creation tool if you access that page on Windows. If you access it from any other operating system, you can download the ISO disk image.

Hello, i have the same issue here, i have no windows10 update in the windows update center. IMO there's a reason for it so i won't update, think microsoft has to do something special with my noteook if the update isn't downloading it self.

Yes. If you got 1809, it would show up as a feature update. They're slowing the rollout for a reason, the update was pretty disastrous and they're trying to avoid pushing the update out to hardware that may not have been tested.

Don't be a hurry to get it. Microsoft maid lots of bug with this October update. You might need to stay off of Windows update for a while.

hi fatih,
Do not install the update if it didn't come this time. There are serious issues affecting specific configurations. You can see the problems here.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/hel … te-history
also the update was re-released like november 13, so it has only been around 3 weeks since release.

A learning experience is one of those things that say, "You know that thing you just did? Don't do that."

The main problem is that all your files might be gone after you update. This should only happen if you have done a known file redirect (KFR). Hope this helps

That was fixed a long time ago but there are several other blocks in place.

Well if you wait  a couple more weeks a lot of extra blocks ms has and bugs will be lifted because microsoft is fixing them.
If you use sisco and or trend micro software you need to update that and also icloud.
Otherwise, unless you got a weird driver which came about and I don't think anyone here actually has ever then there isn't a problem.
More importantly if your system worked before if you got the origional update on october2 and had no issue, you will want to manually just get it I did that because it did work before and I had no issue.

It's been re released. I used the media creation tool to make a USB so if you need one, do it that way.

2018-12-06 08:33:14

One thing that I don't like is, for some reasons when I upgrade through the USB installer, Windows keeps a folder called windows.old on my C drive. Which is silly.

And you can delete it by opening Disk Cleanup, pressing tab until you hear "description: clean up system files". Press enter there and wait until disk cleanup calculates what you'll be able to delete. Among others, you will find windows.old.

I happened to be reinstalling Windows as thisoOctober update was released so this is what I installed. I already ran into some bugs, but nothing major as I could solve them easily by just checking out information through www.devicetricks.com website.
