As reported on [Perkinselearning]:

Diane Brauner posted an update October 1st to thank all 200+ field test applicants, and that APH updated that there were only 36 units available for field testing and not all of those units have come in yet.

The technical specs and dimensions of the Graphiti are available [here], there's also a descriptive video of it available [here]. It has a 60 by 40 grid of pins, that is 40 rows of 60 pins each, which can be at variable heights. The display also has touch input, and haptic feedback, and can function as a real time tactile display for a PC desktop. There's another video [here] of it being used to give a real time view of a solar eclipse.

Thats the million dollar question, they've been pretty tight lipped on price. But as a matter of comparison, the [Canute] multirow display, which was also doing pre-production testing back in march, has claimed it will retail for around 720 to 1080$, or about the price of a new iPhone. It has a total of 360 pins, broken up into 6 dot cells, with 40 cells per row over 9 rows, so its something like 27 by 80 compared to the graphiti's 40 by 60.

By comparison the Graphiti's interface and variable height pins are much more sophisticated, and geared towards image processing rather than as a reader. Its difficult to guess what they may end up charging, but i'd bet its somewhere north of the Canute.
