Other ones:
Onigashima in the Fairyland ~ Missing Power (Suika Ibuki's theme) from Touhou 7.5: Suimusou ~ Immaterial and Missing Power.
Wind God Girl (Aya Shameimaru's theme) from Touhou 9: Kaeidzuka ~ Phantasmagoria of Flower View.
Poison Body ~ Forsaken Doll (Medicine Melancholy's theme) from Touhou 9: Kaeidzuka ~ Phantasmagoria of Flower View.
Wind Circulation ~ Wind Tour (photo theme 1) from Touhou 9.5: Bunkachou ~ Shoot the Bullet.
The Mystery in Your Town (photo theme 1) from Touhou 12.5: Double Spoiler.
In 2010 (?), ZUN left the LM-4 MarkII VST (that usual drums that you can ear in Touhou 7 to Touhou 12) with other virtual instruments, and he became more electronic, but with his music essence.
Eternal Spring Dream (Doremi Sweet's theme) from Touhou 15: Kanjuden ~ Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom.
Pandemonic Planet (Extra Stage Boss - Hecatia Lapislazuli's theme) from Touhou 15: Kanjuden ~ Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom. This is very electronic, right?! big_smile

Anyone else here think that the Metal Gear 2: Solid snake soundtrack is some of the best from the 8 bit era?

They're much newer than many of the classic soundtracks listed above, but pretty much anything by Super Giant Games has a great, moody mix of orchestral tracks, songs and voice over clips. The Bastion and Transistor soundtracks work really well as ambient music when coding.

greetings.
this is asking the moderation if I can post a website that has music from video games in it's native formes such as .psf .nsf and more. can I post it here or is it illegal?

don't wish to become like the oceans, the flowers, or the sun. oceans will dry out, flowers will die, and the sun will be extinguished. be yourself and nothing and no one else and hope for a better tomorrow.

I really love the music from the Rhythm Heaven gamesk, especially Fever and Megamix.

@29 That's actually a question I am not too sure what the answer is when it comes to stuff like that, it's a native/specialized format but does it make it illegal, or could it preserve the music, that's the other thing.

Let's check out some of the great music from games I actually played (and am currently playing). I'll quickly open up my iTunes playlist and check out some YouTube links...
Tie a link of ARCUS: Trails Of Cold Steel:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=In8CXaX1m-M
It's actually hard to select one from Octopath Traveler though, the whole soundtrack is just genious, but if you want to get pumped up, let's choose this one.
Battle at journey's end, Octopath Traveler:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8PMuH5QoYI
A bit more sad, but a great cover indeed.
Kass' song: The Legend of Zelda, Breath Of The Wild:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YBjE5lHww8
A great two-parted series, I can just recommend you to check it out on your own.
Proof of choice, Tales of Xillia 2:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LqRCSeyVYE
And man, that one got me fired up each time, one of the best boss battle musics ever written, but I guess thats up to everyone's personal preference and memories related to the time playing this game.
Life will change, Persona 5:

Well then, more like those next time...
Best Regards.

Here are some more of my favorite songs from games that I love playing and/or am currently playing.
1. Spring Yard Zone, from the original Sonic the Hedgehog, or as quoted by a Let's Player on YouTube, "Sonic The Hedgehog The Porcupine The Guinea Pig The Olympic World Medalist Swimmer The Golden Onion Ring Eater The Spiky Rolling Blue Heavy Metal Pinball The Guinea Pig And Bunny Protector The Eggman Destroyer The 'Casper The Friendly Ghost' Protector Part 1! YEAH!"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDd_GlynA6A
2. River City Ransom: Underground. This one was a tough one, because apparently the individual songs of the OST aren't uploaded to YouTube. This is the old soundtrack of the game before it was replaced in November of 2017 because of false DMCA takedowns of any video or livestream that uses this soundtrack by Alex Mauer.

3. Field of Hopes and Dreams, from Deltarune. The whole soundtrack is amazing in general:

4. Guile's Theme, from Street Fighter II. This version is from Super Street Fighter II. This version also appears in Hyper Street Fighter II and Ultra Street Fighter II. It's a well known fact that Guile's theme goes with everything, you know:

Here are my favorites:
Life is Strange - Santa Monica Dream
To the Moon - Everything's Alright
Metal Gear Solid 3 - Snake eater

We are pleased, that you made it through the final challenge, where we pretended we were going to murder you. We are throwing a party in honor of your tremendous success. Place the device on the ground, then lay on your stomach with your arms at your sides. A party associate will arrive shortly to collect you for your party. Assume the party submission position or you will miss the party.

Sorry, but I have to revive this topic because I just found something amazing. I'll just say this: Jeremy Soule's arrangement of Terra's theme from Final Fantasy VI. That is all.

Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
"Cause in a game of life or death, you either live, or you die."
"Wake the fuck up, samurai. We have a city to burn."

This always brings back amazing memories. It's so stupid but it's just....nice. It also isn't my absolute favorite, but I doubt many folks here have heard of this system. Who knew that a cd based video game console from 1991 had a music based theme, after all.
