hey! all wii sports game accept  golf are accessible. But I still watch sighted people play to see if I can get a few strategies out of the videos. I would recommend awesome gamer land, as he just records straight through his tv with no commentation, so you can hear it very well, and he is flawless at all of the games. hope this helps!

@50, any suggestions are welcome.  @51, I'm using a PC, not a console at the moment.  @49, I only asked because I thought I saw something on the forum some time back that mentioned that Fallout 4 was playable, so just thought I'd check.  Also, what about metal gear solid series?  I thought I heard that 1 and 2 were playable?  What about the rest?  Those would be cool if they are, but I'm not sure they'll support my XB1 controller on PC.

If you can get a psx emulator on your pc, consider trying fisherman's bate 1 and 2. The first doesn't announce weight and snagging a fish before reeling it in is a little tricky but its still manageable. The second one is for sure manageable and I only had sighted help to adjust the time limit but I beat it without help on my psp.
Speaking of which there is an entire thread devoted to accessible psp games on this forum. Check that out also if you can get ppsspp emu for windows.

there's UFC for ps2 I think is accessible or maybe ps3. I just only once played it with my friend like five years ago. so I can't remember. but yeah it was really fun.

@JLove yeah, MGS 1, 2 and 3 are fully playable and your controller is supported.

Off-topic here, but I'm planning to start playing Resident evil 7 once again and record a full walkthrough with commentary. Will upload the first part tomorrow

Ooh, cool!  I was looking at those games last night a little, and they look like fun.  Anyone who has information on how to play them and what I will need, please post here.  I am assuming that I need an emulator for my PC, since I don't believe that MGS 1 was developed for PC, but I might be wrong about that.

2018-11-08 22:42:43

You can get a copy of both the first MGS for pc. There is someone who also updated the first MGS so it can work with modern computers. I'll try to search for it and keep you posted, but I tested it once and it worked pretty well.

But is that copy the crappy PC version?  From what I read, the PC version sucked in comparison to the console one.  I read that content was cut out, etc.  Or did someone fix the console version to be able to be used on PC?  If the PC version sucks, and if they've removed content from it, I'd rather play the console version, as long as I can emulate it and still use my controller.  The place I found the PC fix installer was:

Yeah you certainly can download a psx emulator. The good thing about it is you can also use savestates to save your progress whenever you want.

The installer I have is the one that someone updated to work with PCs, but I can't tell whether it's the console version or the PC one.  Thing is, I don't have a playstation controller.  My controller is Xbox one.  I'm not sure whether an emulator would see it correctly, and I think that the first MGS was only for playstation.  If the only content that was removed for PC version was graphical, that would be one thing, but I think they removed actual game content as well, which doesn't please me.  Which emulator is the most accessible to us and works the best?

2018-11-08 23:50:02

Well, if you have the original disk you can legally download the rom ISO for the game. Your controller is compatible you just need to configure it in your PS emulator

Which emulator works best and is the most accessible for us?

2018-11-09 02:14:31

For psx I've always used ePSXe with no issues.

2018-11-09 04:57:39

Will ePSXSE work with XB1 controllers?

2018-11-09 05:28:51

Most emulators will work with anything the computer recognizes as a gamepad. You may have to remap the buttons within the emulator, which may be the tricky part.

I know it works with a normal Xbox360 controller, so I don't see why it wouldn't.

Once kodi V 18 is released, you will have another option for emulators.

I was able to play streets of rage 2 for the megadrive, genisis for the people in the US, and double dragon for the mastersystem.

Configuring a controler was quite easy, the kodi screen reader was able to read the wizard to set up the control pad reasonably well.

I know you asked for non fighting games, I just used those as an example.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to get any playstation games to work, I'm hoping that will be fixed by the time kodi is out of beta stage.

I finally got ePSXSE to work.  Damn thing kept opening, then just closing for no reason whenever I opened a game.  Somehow by going to options > CPU overclocking and choosing x1, it fixed it.  Apparently it's a fix specifically that has something to do with Windows 10.  Not sure why I'd need to do this given that I have an I7 processor, which probably would beat the hell out of a PS1 console processor, but hey, it works.  I just hope the overclocking doesn't hurt my processor.  Now to see if my controller will work.  Assuming I can get it to work correctly, where do I actually find game play information on MG solid?  Oh, on a side note, something else I thought of.  I hate the idea of having to get an emulator for each console.  Are there any emulators that are good for multiple consoles?  Like, one that will do all Sony consoles, or all xbox consoles, etc.?  It seems stupid to have like 5 or more emulators on my PC.
UPDATE:  Controller seems to work fine, though I am not sure what buttons actually do.  Movement appears to work fine, though.  Now where do I find the info I need to know where to move?

hi
what you thinks
alone in the dark pc version it is playable?

2018-11-12 01:25:39

I'm interested in the resident evil 7 walkthrough if it's not posted here somewheres. email is [email protected]. ug I had to reset my password for this. lol

Try using PSXFin. It's really small, easy to use and fully accessible PSX emulator and it's autodetecting controllers. I remember playing MGS 1 but i've got stuck after first boss as far as I remember.

At 70 i am considering making an audio walkthrough with commentary for Resident Evil 7. Part one should be posted tomorrow and I will upload my notes as well.

@68. Get used to the reality of multiple emulators. Arcade machines have had some multifunction emulators, but why would you expect to have one emulator for a set of consoles that all operate differently and have different operating systems? lol. If anything it's the other way. I know people who have multiple emulators for the same console. But just like having the real physical systems.. if you want to play games on a specific console, you'll either need the physical system or in this case, the equivalent emulator. big_smile

Why in the world would I need multiple emulators of the same console?

2018-11-12 06:50:11

Some games may run better on certain emulators. It's that simple.

Take care, it's a desert out there.
