Hi guys,
First of all, I want to thank Sam Tupy for giving me FTP space to host this project. Thanks Sam! smile
So I coded this little game using the Crazy Party sounds. (And before you go asking for them, The only link I know of doesn't work anymore, so I used a pack extractor).
Anyway, basically, this game is a dodge and collect style game that has actually turned out to be, for those who've played it, a very addictive one.
You have falling rocks, which all though they drop items that you can get for points and sometimes a powerup, will kill you if you stand beneeth them as they're falling.
You have cannons which launch cannon balls you must jump over from time to time.
You also have casms that appear at random, and threaten to swallow you if you take one wrong step!
Your goal? Pick up as many of the dropped items as possible without dying, and ignore this kind of crappy early morning description!

Oh, and I forgot to tell you: it's not all hopeless! Rocks can and do sometimes drop powerups. These can be a 15 second speed boost, or a 15 second invincibility (while invincible, nothing including casms can hurt you), or a pit cover. Pit covers add up, so you can be holding on to multiple. Step on the rocky edge of a pit and press f to use a pit cover, press c to check how many are left.
Okay, I think I've rambled enough. Here's the download link:

Also, here's an audio recording of the game where I sucked majorly:

Enjoy and carma me up if you like it and aren't too addicted to do so! smile

By the way, Praggma him self was the one that freely gave out the link to the entire crazy party Skype group, plus the sounds are all stolen anyway. Just thought I'd mention it cuz I knew people might get upset about this using CP sounds...

nothing special. but if this game is your first game it was not bad.
so i wish you success.

Yours kindly

hello
this is a small but verry adicting game
i have a question

if you have the permission, i want  to make a mod for this game.
You can think it as a soundpack anyway.
have a nice day.

I've been playing this game for days now and it's ridiculously addictive. Goes to show that a game doesn't have to be huge to be a hit, and sometimes the simple concepts are the most addictive ones - this game could really use achievements in a future version. Also, was your intention in the game to use CP sounds making the game sound like it came straight out of Crazy Party, or was it just the only sounds you had? Either way I have sounds that I do have the rights to so if this game were to ever expand, commercialize or otherwise, we'd have a secondary set of sounds that we're allowed to use. Given Crazy Party's been going on for a long time and it's free, using these sounds is not problem in that type of game.

2018-08-05 20:39:26

@Omer hey dude, I did put all the sounds in the folder just as is, course I don't mind if you mod them. They're not mine anyway.
@Jack achievements? Actually yeah, that's a great idea, but I'll wait til the high score systems are in. As for your sound suggestions, yeah, I used cp sounds because I had them and wanted to code something with them. I'd be cool with switching them out if the secondary sounds covered what they needed to and were good. I have no problem with that what soever! smile
Also, plus one on your post Jack because I agree: I only took 2 days to code that game, did it out of pure boredom and creativity, but have been playing a lot more than coding on it. big_smile

They can be extracted with any BGT pack extractor.

Hi!
first of all, the game really is funny to play. But please please make the voice slower which speaks the bonus objects got, that's so extrem fast that I really understand nothing!

Good work!

Greetings,
Janagirl!

2018-08-05 22:23:56

@13 sure thing! Next version though.
Also, that's a kick-ass mod. Those are great sounds dude! smile Really enjoyed the demo, haven't played it yet though.

I'm modding the sounds as well, so maybe I may just add carious sounds to the bonus items that make sense based on what items you obtained. The only one I'd leave as a voice is invinsability.

2018-08-05 22:57:48

Just a question, since this is... using cp sounds, can I use one of any of your mods as the actual game sounds if I like it enough? This way we can have all the sounds we need, but can get awayy from the cp ones.
Also, let's see if I can start a trend here:
Game over. You lasted 4 minutes and 5 seconds and your score was 162.

@12, there's a program to extract them available. I have it somewhere.

Oh no! Somebody released the h key! Everybody run and hide!

I'd be interested in this program as well.

Take care, it's a desert out there.

2018-08-06 00:07:30

same, i have the pack extractor, but i 'd like this program too

Hi,

What an awesome game!

I agree, it's super addicting.

I like the current sounds; I think that's part of what makes the game so funny. Especially when you fall into pits! smile

The only thing that gets me sometimes is when there's a lot of other sounds playing in the game it's hard to hear the initial sound of the rock falling therefore it's hard to get out of the way sometimes.

Thanks again for such a great game! smile

Found it. These are graphical programs to create and extract BGT packs, which are front ends to standard BGT functions. The tools can be downloaded here.

@21
Your link says access denied, you need permission.

2018-08-06 06:57:06

I have to say I wasn't expecting much from this, but I'm pleasantly surprised. It really is addicting for the simple fact that you want to get a decent time. So far, my best was a minute and 21 seconds, so clearly I have work to do if I want to be good at it, lol. But seriously, I'm enjoying it quite a bit more than I thought I would.

The glass is neither half empty nor half full. It's just holding half the amount it can potentially hold.
