Hi everyone,
so recently I was playing with my sister's iPad and I decided to try to use the swwift playgrounds app for iPad. Has anyone used it with VoiceOver? If so, any success? Please let me know your thoughts. It seems too visual for me.

It works fine with VO. Just read it as a grid.  Also, enable  vertical navigation. It will allow you to swipe up and down to see the coordinates above and below your current one.

Hi,

Yup, i tried it as well, and was perfectly accessible to me, a fun way of getting into new ways of thinking, learning to think in solutions instead of problems and such. I only can recommend it smile

Hi.
Sounds interesting. Is it worth buying an iPad to play with it? Or is it not that much worth it? smile

Best regards SLJ.

Post for: if you're just itching to code in swift and try to sell your apps on the App Store, then yes. It's totally worth it. Otherwise, buying an iPad for a single purpose of trying an app, I don't know. the cost seems to outweigh the benefit

Hi,

for me personally slj, i wouldn't buy a ipad just for trying out the swift playgrounds. If you want to play around with it, for example to play games on it, i would say yes, but only for trying the playgrounds, i find the ipad to expensive.

Thank you. It's sad it only works on the iPad. smile

I agree, I'd love to see what the fuss is about, but I refuse to get an iPad for one app.

I hear swift isn't as good compared to Objective-C.

I'm no programmer, I just saw a thread discussing it on applevis and I got the impression that swift is better for beginners who want to start learning how to code.
