Hi everyone,

Delight Games has just released an Android version of Wizard's Choice that is designed to be played through audio. We are using a talented audiobook narrator who really brings the story alive. You can either use your voice to make choices or swipe the screen. The app is free.

We are looking for feedback, including how to make the game more accessible. If there's enough interest, we'll make more.

If you have played the Beta version which used the phone's voice, here are the main updates:
1. Human narrator instead of text-to-speech. This makes a huge difference.
2. You can swipe the screen to make choices (up for one, right for two, etc.) So even if the voice input doesn't work for you, you can play without having to see the screen.
3. The bug where it was not compatible with TalkBack is now fixed.

Hi.
Sounds awesome. I hope it'll be released for IOS in the future.

Best regards SLJ.

We definitely want to do iOS too. We started with Android because Delight Games has many more users there. It turns out it's a lot easier for an independent developer to get their app shown prominently on the Google Play Store than on the Apple App Store. If we can get enough interest, we will definitely do an iOS version.

I see your point. But, there are actually more blind IOS users than Android users. So for this reason, you can't expect that much interest, from the blind community, simply because there are less Android users than IOS users. I'm not against Android though. I just don't have an Android device which is able to run the game. But I might get a device in the future. I don't think it can run on my Android Sony tv. Lol.

Best regards SLJ.

The quote from post 3:

"It turns out it's a lot easier for an independent developer to get their app shown prominently on the Google Play Store than on the Apple App Store."

, was also quoted by Sam himself on Facebook in a similar manner.

In addition from me, even though there are more IOS users in the world (for the most part,) there are quite a few Android blind users out there who would disagree with that statement.

I posted about this game on the Eyes-Free Android list earlier this week (official Google Android list for blind users,) and people do indeed like it.

Not enough devs over there check out that list sadly, mainly do to all of the traffic.

@Trenton, thanks for posting it on Eyes-Free Android. I will check that out.
