I've been reading a handful of video game novelizations on Fan Fiction lately.  I find these to be very entertaining, since I miss playing the ames so much.  There are books for Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, Breath of Fire, and other games for sure.   Here are some that I've read.

Final Fantasy 1, 4, 6, 7, 8, and 12.
Chrono Trigger.
Zelda Ocarina of Time.
Breath of Fire 1 and 2.

I am currently reading Breath of Fire 3, and ave Final Fantasy Tactics, Zelda Twilight Princess and Link to the Past.  Additionally, the writer who wrote Final Fantasy IV and VI has also done Final Fantasy IV's interlude ad is currently working on The After Years.  She's a good writer and does pretty well to detail in a bunch of back story  Her writings also include a 100% completion of the games, too, including side quests.

Although some of these are written by different writers, they are all entertaining, to me anyways.   Additionally, there's  a channel on YouTube called "A Random Audiobook Appeared" where you can get some of these in audiobook format, using the Fan Fic versions done with TTS and corrected and fixed so it is decent and enjoyable.   I put in some requests, so hopefully it will work out.

If anyone has any other suggestions for these, let me know.  I'd be curious to find out what's out there.  I  just thought I'd share.

There is a series of book telling the story from the Doom first person shooter from the 90s.

There are also three books that I know of from the Mass Effect game series.

And finally, there are two books about The Witcher, though I believe the books came first there.

Mass Effect should be interesting.  I also saw one, int he works, for Persona 5 and FF Tactics.

hi
this is a very interesting topic.
I've just begun reading the Asassins creed novelisations. A user caled "mirror and Image" did all AC games, up to AC III.

Fan fiction is good, but there are also official novellizations for many games. My favourite by far is the Resident Evil series which covers from Resident Evil up to Resident Evil Code: Veronica, in addition to two original stories. Those are written by S.D. Perry, and are all very well done.

Oo! Assassin's Creed sounds interesting, I played the first game in the series before I lost my vision.

I do know that there are some light novels for BlazBlue set before the events of Calamity Trigger. Unfortunately... they're in Japanese.

Hi,
I received Halo: The Fall of Reach as an iTunes gift last Christmas. I need to get back into it, because I really like it. This is where you start, as it details the origin story for a very important character, leading into the first game's novelisation, called The Flood.

Could I have links to all these, please, especially the youtube channel? I looked it up, but there doesn't seem to be one called "an audiobook appeared" or anything like that.

The Doom  and Assassin's Creed series is on Book Share. That being said, I don't think it would be appropriate to provide copies of them. Sorry.

Hi,
Where can I find the final fantasy 7 novel, whether that's texr or audio, I don't mind either way.

2017-12-02 05:37:00

It's on Fan Fiction, but the ovel is divided up in 3 books  and 120 chapters in 15 parts.  I made a kindle/text document version of it, uncensoring the coss words and it's all just one  book, document, or what not.   I can send it to you if you'd like over email or skype or something.  I have it in Kindle Mobi format, PDF, and text

Aah, I think I found that one the other day. Is the third book still being worked on, because I can only, seemingly, seem to find 52 chapters on fanfiction, unless there's an updated version?

That's a different one.  Here's the one I have.

Resident Evil: the Umbrella Conspiracy. This is the novelization of the first game. Not my favourite narrator ever, but when there's no choice with no official audio book, there isn't any. lol

That guy sounds so monotone.  IT's almost annoying but can't complain like you said.

That tends to be what happens when it's just an average Joe reading. But I love the Resident Evil novelizations. Ones for this one and Resident Evil 2 are my favourite.

I'd rather read books that have been published by authors, as I've really never seen a good fanfiiction.  Most don't know how to end, or are terriible writers.  Or, if they are good, then I don't see why they try and publish even if it's just self-publishing. Check out here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_n … ideo_games

I saw that list before, but no games of my major interest.    I was kinda like you when it came to fan fic writings, because I was actually initiaaly looking for official novels for final fantasy games, and when I saw the first one from Fan fic, which was FInal Fantasy VI, I was like "oh well, let's at least give it a try" and sure enough I was satisfied with it, so I started looking more into them.   I also like how in this particular case, theres a bunch of backstory that is being written as well.    I know there is a professional writer doing a Final Fantasy VII unofficial novelization, but he's not that far into it.  Can't wait to see where it goes, however, there are no battles in it.
