I know this is off-topic but I don't know where to turn. Does anybody have any experience typing in chinese and if so how?

hmm, I don't know, but you could take whatever you need to type and convert it in the google language tool
also I am curious, jw why do you need to type in Chinese anyway?

Remember we have a specific off topic room here. Instead of choosing the general game discussion go down to the off topic room. Just helps keep things tidier.

Bear in mind online translation systems, indeed any computerised translation system has an element of error involved. One thing I've heard suggested is to try entering some text in, and then convert it through three or four languages and back to english then see what it looks like.

You can try NVDA. It is localized in Chinese (Preferences, General Settings, Language), and the espeak speech engine is also Chinese (Preferences, Voice Settings, Voice). I don't know about the IME though, assuming you're using Windows.

Cheers,
