On

Adora's website, the news on the main page, listed as 31st August it says

Adora is no longer working on products and Lioncourrt is no longer

associated with the company. Apparently the company's owner is now in

control of the company's future, and I'm concerned a good accessible game

company could be gone forever.

If you don't believe me check

www.adoraentertainment.com

It looks like the long delayed Aemon will

never be released after all...

This happened regularly when I played

mainstream games, I somehow got afeeling it wouldn't happen to us...

how

can a-ving guing do this (yes, wrong spelling i know, but that's a weird

name) do ya think i should contact her about this?

2005-09-03 14:01:02

No

Aaron. I don't think you should contact  G her about this stuff. She'll

either not answer yy you, or be extremely rude.

I quite

agree with Holden.

Let's give them some time and see what happens.

Someone else might be interested in acquiring Adora if we're lucky. If not,

in due course and some weeks down the road, we can always suggest other

companies look at acquiring Adora or make a petition. Let's just see what

happens for now, and see what intentions the owner has.

After all it's

her right... whatever the ethics are.

i

just can't believe it, a good company like adora going?
this seems to be

happening a lot, first xlstudios, now possibly adora? who's dropping out

next.

be ever aware of the silent tread of the angel of death.

2005-09-03 23:05:56

hello

all
this is yakir(big y),I am really sad hearing about all these companys

closing as alee sed
first x l studios and now adoraEntertainment(witch as

menny of you will agree with me, was one of the best companys we ever

had)
seeing all these  events ,I started thinking I should give my part to

the audio gaming comunity because I really like it,like audio games, and like

audio gamers
so I took apond my self to start a new game company, that will

hopefully be produsing some dam good and high quolity games
I have started

thinking that actualy for some time ago,but just didn't want to spoil

things..
but now,I think I should say it,because I really want you all to

know that even if things like that happen,we'll not give up
we'll

continue ,and the audio gaming market will just grow and grow, and not

diminish!
so I am currently working  on some projects for the near future,

I have one game ready (not a big deel though)it is a guessing game, though

with lots of cool feechers other guessing games's developers thot to

implement:
pointer cloos
difficulty levels
cool sounds
the ability to

choose the guessing range
well,my thot is that  even you make just a small

game (like the guessing game) it will be thot upon
and not just throne in

to the downloads section (smile)
so here gos ,I am also working on a maze

game(again, not like the usual maze games we all ready have)
I have also

plans for the future of course, for much more complikated games then

these, but hey, this can be a grate appetizer for ya!
the company will be

opened as soon as the site is up and running
yours,
yakir arbib(big y)

Hey,

Do you have a website yet? Also, I think someone should contact Adora. I

thought Josh owned the company! Come, all these companies ending luckily

there'll still be MMV-Games or whatever it is to be called.

What!!? Adora Entertainment going? (Sniffles) But---but---but I was gonna

register my copy of Alien Outback! (Runs out of the room, crying

hysterically).

(returns a few minutes later feeling composed) But the

good news is that, unlike what somebody said earlier, as far as I know

L-works isn't actually down the tubes yet. While Super Liam 2 has been put

on an indefinite hold it didn't sound like it would be permanent. Liam's a

busy guy what with work and school and life in general. I didn't realize he

was younger than me but that's way beside the point. And last I heard, BSC

Games is still alive and kicking and, though the release date has been

pulled, Castle Quest is still well under development. Frustrating it may be

but I like Justin's policy of releasing too much information at this point

in case it changes or something comes up. I'm slated to be one of the voice

actors in CQ and I can't wait to get started, but at the same time I'm not

gonna hound poor Justin for information, both because I know he's a busy

fellow and also because that's the sort of thing that sometimes causes a

person to lose heart. A fitting though admittedly extreme example would be

Kurt Cobain from Nirvana, though his problem was more that he couldn't

handle the fame. Let's just hope no audio game developers get so fed up

they decide to take KC's way out. Hmmm, that's not exactly a cheerful

thought.
Anyway, let's not throw in the towel just yet. I can't promise

anything but I'm planning on heading back to school with an eye on

accessible game development. I've long felt it's high time for a Metroid

style Audio Game or, even better, more RPG's! Better still, an RPG Maker

like the ones you can only download illegally because their developers

decided to be stingy and not release them in other countries, the lazy

bastards! And the funny thing is, their decision not to release their games

in other countries is probably the reason they're having so many piracy

problems in the first place! But again I digress. The point

is---well---guess I won't be buying Alien Outback anytime soon, unless of

course you can still buy the existing products. Ai-vi Nguyen (did I even

spell that right?) had her reasons I'm sure, but I won't deny that it

pisses me off. Poor Bow Linball---Oops, I meant Josh De Lioncourt. I musta

got confused. Got to thinking about Ten Pin Alley again. (suddenly runs from

the room, crying hysterically again)

But wait, what's that? A transport! Saved am I! Hark, over here! Hey nonny non, please help!

2005-09-11 05:36:08

Oh,

and I meant I like Justin's policy of not releasing too much information at

this point. I just misspoke myself. But anyway, let's not give up hope yet.

SL2's on hold right now and we don't know how long it'll be that way, but

there is hope. And of course we still have Castle Quest from BSC Games and,

unless I'm much mistaken, the Void's still alive or, at least it's in

suspended animation or whatever. We'll just have to wait and see. And if it

turns out that I can in fact wrap my brain around what currently seem to me

like the arcane complexities of computer programming, I may make a stab at

some games myself. And let's not forget that Phil Vlasak or David Greenwood

(I forget which), mentioned quite a while ago that a new version of Shades

of Doom was in the works. If so, maybe they'll clear up some of the loose

ends the most recent version left us with.

But wait, what's that? A transport! Saved am I! Hark, over here! Hey nonny non, please help!
